* Mike gets up and gets a DR. Pepper and a glass of iced tea, he returns to the table, sits, hands Lacy the Dr. Pepper and hold her hand as they sip their drinks. *

*I sip my soda, sitting up straighter than I usually do, obviously doing my best to stay strong. I squeeze your hand gently* Should we see what planets we are close to?
Yeah...we left hyperspace a few minutes ago. I suppose the Ranger has started examining anything within sensor range.
*I leave my unfinished soda on the table and stand, letting go of your hand, Tor following me out of the room and head for where the Ranger was examining nearby planets. Riddick walks past to find us and stop, jaw dropped when he sees my changes. He glances back at you, questions in his eyes*
* Mike shrugs as Riddick looks toward him and then moves to the screens showing data readouts and pictures. The Ranger says she's launched a dozen probes half dozen toward each of the 2 closest planets. The nearest one should have a privately run supply depot...but she thought it best to be safe.The other was being colonized earlier, but she's not sure how things there have gone. These 2 should be the only populated planets in the system. *
*I look over at you* Maybe we should send one of the smaller ships to the planet where the Doctor is so that he knows what has happened so far. He gave me another one so we can continue to tape everything but he can get the word out to others about the overlords and plant spies or whatever needs to be done so they can find out what they want with us and others like us.
Okay. I'm sending several with recordings of what we know so far to different places. If you have something that can find the Dr. might be a good idea.
*I tap a button on the top of the device* Homing beacon...it'll find him no problem plus all we have to do its put the coordinates that he gave us and it'll do the rest. *I look back down at the planets to see of the sensors had picked up anything before I left to send off the device to the Doctor.*
Nothing unusual I can see. Ranger's already handling resupply. Not that we really need it, but it'll be good to top off everything...including the Dr.Pepper. * Mike smiles at Lacy* Good thing Earth goods are here I suppose. * Mike looks over the screen*
Oh look, that's a nice knife...and look at that sword...I'll add those to my ammo order. Need anything Lacy, Riddick?
*I extant claws* I guess I don't need any of those kind of those weapons anymore...I'm a human...mutant...weapon myself. *Riddick shrugs and says he's good with weapons as well. He glances at me and his eyes widen when he sees that my ring finger now lay empty. He quickly looked up at me but I hadn't noticed. He then looked back at you, clearly confused about what was happening to me.* I think I'm going to go stretch my wings in the other room, just in case we need to go down to one of the planets. *I turn and disappear down the hallway with Tor at my heel. Riddick glances back at you and growls, asking what was going on*
* I tell him of your concerns and we discuss the bast way to pull you out of any depression and also help not not feel so hopeless in general...And after you leave the room Riddick orders a half dozen new bladed weapons and winks as he leave the room to check on Lacy.
I then order a small caliber submachine gun that Lacy can have a small easy to handle distance weapon. *
*I step into the room where I had flown around before and leap into the air. Tor follows me and we quickly climb up to the ceiling. I close my eyes, spread my arms and let my wings fold, falling, my hair flying up around my face. Tor does the same*
* Mike looks in and watches a while when he leaves to give lacy her space he notes Riddick standing and watching from the opposite door. *
*At the last minute, our wings unfurl and we swoop back up to the ceiling where we flutter for a little then begin to fly what looked like almost a dance. After a few hours of this, we land on the ground and sit down, closing our eyes. Around us the room changes and the image of a forest appears. We continue to make the room change with our minds, then just me as Tor watches with a smile. I even make people and monsters appear as I work on making my mind stronger.*
* Within a few hours the ship is loaded. Fuel cells are topped off, though they were still sufficient for many jumps and sub-light travel. Mike leaves Lacy's gift, the submachine gun on her bed with a large supply of ammunition in the room. After everything is put away Mike goes back to the Galley to wait. *
*I return to my room, rubbing my temples, having grown a headache from all of the practicing but was happy that I was better at blocking and making images seem real in case we ever needed a distraction. I look at my bed and smile, gently touching the gun and the ammo. I pick it up and strap it to my leg along with some of the ammo. I walk to where you were and pat the gun gently. I walk over to you and hug you* Thanks for the gift, Mike, I love it. But are you sure you want me carrying a gun around. You saw what happens when I shoot.
Just make sure I'm behind you when you shoot....
*I gasp pretending to be hurt and sit next to you* Like I would really shoot you. Sheesh! *I chew on a finger nail* I'm too tired to sense any life on the other planet closest to us...should we go down and check it out? Or has the Ranger found something out?
No this system seems to be just what it seems...which brings up the next question. From here we can jump to the system the Dr. gave yo information on. I'm willing if that's where you want to go.
*I nod* Yes I think we should go there. We need a break from the ship and I want to see the planet with my own eyes, smell fresh air. We've been on the ship for too long. Ad it isn't that far from here from what the Range told me. So yes please let's go there.
Right I assume you and the Ranger have laid it all in the jump computer. Let her know as soon as the ship's ready we can jump. What are we looking at jump wise as far as time.
*smiles* Only a half a day this time. We'll be there very soon. *I walk to the wall and press the intercom* Okay he agrees....lets go!
* Mike laughs a little and shakes his head...and gets some more iced tea. *
*I sit down next to him with a Dr. Pepper and drinks a little, enjoying the taste this time. I lean my head against your shoulder* Want to see what Tor has been teaching me?
Okay...but don't give me a headache * Mike grins*
*giggles and closes my eyes* I don't need your mind for this one. *I open my eyes and they seem to flash. Then instantly standing in front of us was Mike but on the other side of our table* Here is your twin. * I giggle*
* Mike looks surprised and then recovers * Huh, thought I was better looking than that...* Reaches out to see if the other Mike is an illusion or can be touched. *
*I slightly jerk my head on your shoulder and the other you reaches out and slaps your hand away.* He can touch things but you can't touch him. It takes a bit of energy but I can hold an image or images for a while. And Tor says that you can actually do everything mentally that I can...you just have to be more open to it and he can train you too.
Hummm....I don't know. So far the "other side" hasn't been able to pierce my mental shields. I've got to be careful about keeping the shields strong. I'll think on it. I can communicate fine with most animals.[off to bed church tomorrow. night.]
*I nod my head, the other Mike disappearing. I keep my head on your shoulder* it would be cool if you did so we could practice together but it is up to you. ( night and Happy Easter)
*There's an odd "bump" as the ship exits hyperspace so Lacy and Mike head for the control room where they meet Riddick heading the same way. *
*I look at Riddick who only shrugs* I hope we didn't run into another ship!
* Mike coming up behind the other two*What's happened?
*I look at the screen, trying to see if there is not her ship* Shoot! We did bump into another ship but from the readings it seems dead...like it has been out here floating around for centuries.
Any damage to us?* Mike moves to another console to check for problems with the ship. *
*I punch in a few things into the computer* Nothing that is showing up thankfully. I can't read the name on the ship, can you?
No..... * Turns to Ranger *Could you sweep that ship with sensors? See if life support is still functioning, if there's anything alive aboard...check for power, origination point and see if it's got a name and registry okay?
*I chew on my lip nervously as the Ranger begin to look up the information. I look at you* You don't think maybe it's a trap? Like the overlords are on there waiting for us?
* Mike looks at Lacy with a somewhat serious smile*I always think everything's a trap, it's partly why I'm still alive.
*I make a face and move closer to Riddick who slips his arms around my shoulder. I look back at the Ranger when she pulls up some information on the ship.* The name is Proteus? But I thought that one has been destroyed already!
There's power...and life support. Don't see any signs of life though....* Mike looks up *
What???? You know the ship? Where's it from? You say you thought it had been destroyed?
*I nod* I knew this pilot from the ship Jupiter II...they got lost and came across this ship...they went on board and nearly didn't make it back alive...some strange spider creatures that shot lasers were on board. And some really cute creature that they took with them. The ship...they blew it up to destroy the creatures before they destroyed their ship. The pilot's name was...West...Maj. Don West.
Hummm....well I don't see how this can be the same ship. I know that Star Fleet has a class of ship they call Proteus. I guess there was at some point a ship named that, but I don't know anything about it.*Mike rechecks readings.*
We're not showing any life forms...the air looks breathable. Let's see...
* Mike makes some adjustments*
Air looks like it's stale...not needing recycling for a long time, and we've got lots of equipment running...can't tell what.
Looks like a hydroponic deck but the ship has been having to actually produce carbon dioxide as no oxygen being breathed.
Well, what now?
*Riddick reads the information again and suggests that we go on board. I look at you then to Riddick* I'll go only if you both go with me.
I knew we were going to do this....Okay arm up and I'd suggest oxygen masks for at least the first few minutes till we've checked that ship out first hand. It's go pressure but just because the computer says the air's breathable I don't like taking chances.
* Mike turns to Ranger*
Dock up....
* Turns back to Lacy and Riddick*
I'll meet you by the airlock in 15 minutes...like I said, go prepared.
*Riddick, Tor and I head back to my room. Tor jumps on the bed and lays down while Riddick waits while I change into a more form fitting and something more flexible. I exit the bathroom in tight black leggings and a spaghetti strapped low cut deep blue tank top and my boots, which carries my throwing knives. Attached to my leg was the gun you had got me with ammo. Riddick whistles at my outfit, smiling a little, and we walk to meet you, grabbing oxygen masks and lightweight tanks to carry on our backs. Tor stayed in my room, pouting because he wanted to go with us.*
* Mike wears his repaired chainmail and (new) jacket with a few patches...his two custom pistols (plus backup), his array of knives and Falchion across his back. He pauses and looks at Lacy, then glances to Riddick. *Well...if we ever get our own graphic novel Lacy will be the hit....Masks on.
*I raise an eyebrow then shake my head, laughing as I put on my mask* oh shut up, Mike! *Riddick agrees with you and winks at me, saying he would buy it* I roll my eyes, my sea blue eye shadow making my eyes seem to flash gently as I turn around and face the door to the air lock* Let's go boys. *Riddick quickly puts his mask on once I hit the button to open the door. I saunter through the door, my hips swaying a bit from side to side. Riddick smacks your arm and pretends to faint at the sight*
Okay....Riddick, you and I have to look out there...not at Lacy.* The door closes behind us and the air lock cycles us onto air from the other ship as it's airlock opens for us. We step into the corridor and immediately start taking readings of the air...
A dessicated body looking like a mummy lays not far from the airlock. *
*I glance around until my eyes rest on the body* OMG! Mike! There is a body here..looks like they were in a fight or something. *I kneel down and look over the body, Riddick does a double take, looking down my shirt then looks away muttering to you how my dressing sexier than before might be a distraction. I glance up wards at them* What do you guys think? There might be others around here. And what did you mean by having to not look at me? What's wrong?
