End of the world
*Glances at you confused* I'm back? Mike, what are you talking about I've been here the entire time. *slaps Riddick's hands away and straps myself in, Riddick quickly doing the same, looking just as confused*
We'll explain later...hold on...* Mike uses breaking thrusters and the plane touches down in the landing bay sparks flying off the metal skids as the ship slides to a stop. The bay doors are already closing as they get out (the bay door sealed by force field as soon as they touch-down and the bay repressurizing). Mike runs to a screen Riddick and Lacy not far behind (Lacy still demanding to be filled in). The screen shows an armada of small attack vessels belching up from the planet...but i seconds the stars elongate and we enter hyperspace. *
*I shake my head* Well if no one is going to explain to me why you guys are acting all weird, I'm headed to sick bay to see how Scott is doing. Plus Tor said that he would teach me how to heal with my mind. *turns to leave*
How's that hole in your back???* Mike and Riddick are dealing with their own wounds as they join Lacy on the way to sick bay*
*holds up the bullet and shows them the only thing left was a scar* Okay...Tor was able to heal me once I got back in the ship. He says he can heal you guys too but not until you tell me why you are both acting so weird. Almost like you are a fraud of me. Is everything okay?
Not afraid of you....what's the last thing you remember?
*looks thoughtful* Umm...killing the guards with water and ice. Why?
How did you do that? Your actions were not so much...."you" then.
Tor and I did it together. Remember he and I were linked mind to mind. He saw what I did and he and I didn't like those people so we did something about it. *I shrug as if it wasn't a big deal and enter the sick bay where Tor greets me with a gentle nudge of his head against my leg and a happy growl* Hey there Tor...we took care of those big mean people didn't we? Yes we did. *I knelt down and hugged him before we walked over to where Scott still laid unconscious. I look at the computers around him for the read outs*
Lacy....do you remember Riddick carrying you out of the shaft...across the ice to the ship.....getting you in the ship?
*glances over to you* Yes, Mike, I was there...I was all there. I remember him trying to get my attention but i ignored him because I was concentrating on killing those people and making sure that the genius monkeys found the people hanging from the ceiling. They are safe by the way...taken to some other part of the planet that is hidden and have others like them. Apparently the monkeys have broken in before so they kept changing the room. But I showed them where, they turned off the equipment and got them out before the water went into the room and destroyed all of the equipment. Don't worry, Mike, it's not a big deal that they died. They wanted to use us for experimenting and who knows what else so they deserved it. *I turn away and entry lay my hands on Scott's chest, looking down at Tor who was watching me and nodding his head at the placement of my hands*
* Mike and Riddick look at each other and say nothing*[off to bed. Night see you later]
*I close my eyes and begin to concentrate only nodding once in a while as Tor spoke to me in my mind. Slowly my hands begin to seem to glow a light pale blue and Scott begins to breath more at ease, his wounds on his face disappointing and the computers beeping as the readings show that his internal injuries were healing.*(Me too might!)
....Lacy, tell me about these, monkeys and all that happened, okay?
*Glances back towards you* Hmm..oh the monkeys ...well apparently they began testing on animals...hence why Tor here has wings and the monkeys can actually talk and are a lot smarted...they are like little Albert Einsteins running around on the planet. Once they escaped, they started watching the place and as soon as they began to do tests on humans, the monkeys and other animals banned together and began raiding the place. There are other mutant humans living with them. They were actually going to attack when we were caught but Tor told them about us. The monkeys snuck in, I showed them mentally where the humans we saw were, they searched for others and rescued all of them, then Tor and I well..you know.. *smiles and talks my hands off of Scott's chest* I'm starving snow...Tor I think you, me, and Scott here needs food. *as I mentioned his name, Scott sat up, healed and looking a bit hungry.*
Your sure? I looked at those people and they were suspended by wires and tubing. It would be hard to get them out...And if it's okay...how did you melt that ice?
*stands up and moves to the side, helping Scott stand slowly* Like I said they are geniuses and possibly someone on the inside helped too. There were a few that I can feel didn't like what was going on and were just there as spies. They are all safe too.*I begin to help Scott walk out of sick bay* Oh and melting the ice as easy...I thought of fire. *Smiles at you as if it was a natural thing to do*
* Mike and Riddick sit together in the Galley after having their own wounds cared for by the ship and with the Ranger's help. They get a meal and sit a long time sipping coffee, tea, beer, whiskey and then more coffee and tea discussing Lacy and what may come of her developing power and empathy with Tor. They both saw a side that of that power that could be dangerous as Lacy seemed to lose control of it once the destruction and killing started.They had bee researching mutations that overwhelmed those mutated and had come across the case of a woman who'd called herself Phoenix....
Lacy arrived to eat as they were still talking. *
*I help Scott sit at our own table then get him something to eat and drink along with something for myself and Tor. Tor purrs as I set down two steaks in front of him, raw and bloody, and he begins to tear into them. I sit beside Scott and help him eat while I munch on my own food, being gentle with Scott even though he wasn't on your side. I look over at you and Riddick curiously but stay where I am.*
*looks you in the eyes, a little hurt because I had a feeling you two had been talking about me* Yes all his vitals are normal and his wounds are healed. After he eats, I'm going to see if he will tell me on what other planets they are experimenting on humans and animals. Then maybe we can stop them as well.
* Mike walks over to Lacy's table...sighs and sits down.*Lacy we need to talk... Can you join me at another table for a little while?
* Mike reaches out and squeezes Lacy's hand. *
*I look down at your hand then up in your eyes and nod* Sure, Tor can watch Scott for a bit I guess. *I glance at Scott before I stood and slip my hand out of his, walking to another table farther from Scott*
* Mike leads Lacy to the table in the most distant corner *Coffee, tea....wine, liquor?
*I shake my head and sit down, wiping my hands against my legs as I look into your eyes, fearful*
Lacy I'm not sure exactly what you recall and how you recall it. You seemed to lose complete control there at the end. I'm not sure what you would have done had we not gotten you onto the atmosphere plane... It seemed not to be you at all and you were...quite enthusiastic about killing.We're worried about you.
*I quickly look down, chewing on my lower lip, afraid to lift my eyes* I'm sorry, Mike...do you think...do you think that the mutation is changing me and Tor? I mean I've had a dream that there was a huge fight and we were fighting each other...I was on their side. And then today we met that guy and he said that I was a perfect specimen for him...that he could use me. My heart dropped...I wanted to just destroy him...I wanted to destroy al of them.
I don't think that they are controlling you I am a little worried about how quickly your powers are growing. You seem to be developing the ability to manipulate the elements now...but you're depending on Tor for a lot of control.. I think, and I could be wrong here that's why I'm asking questions...I think a lot of instinctual control may be going on. If that's coming from Tor it could be...well very aggressive predator instincts.You'll have to work on your control I get that. The powers you've gained have outstripped mine completely. I'd say you could be a major power...one way or another.
*I fit my eyes* You don't think that is what they wanted? For me to be like this?
"I thinkyou'd scare the hell out of them if they knew how you're reacting to their little cocktail. If the ruling council had been down in that complex you might have killed them right there.
"I think" that after this they will more than likely put a price on your head...but that's just speculation on my part.
Like I said, work full time on control, and I'd be careful how much control you actually take from Tor...he obviously sees the direct route to take most times. Kill anyone who's dangerous or anyone who's between you and whoever is dangerous.
*I nod my head and look down, tears sliding down my cheeks* I'm scared, Mike...what if Tor and I actually had a bad batch and we turn evil...evil even more than those who want to take over the universe...
Remember when I asked you if you wanted a drink and you said no.... Remember me trying to convince you to eat more and you didn't want to? Why did you say no?
*Shrugs a little* Not hungry...not thirsty I guess. Why? You don't think it's linked somehow do you?
Well it proves you're still making decisions about those things. Do you fell like you should cut my throat??? I mean you know from outside yourself...not because I tick you off.* Mike smiles at Lacy*
*I take in a deep breath* It's not funny, Mike! *I growl and stand, stalking out of the Mess hall. Tor and Sott glance back at Mike, Scott glaring at Mike before they both walk out, following behind me, Scott actually slipping his arm around my shoulder. I don't push his arm away, except lean more into him, crying. Riddick snarls when he sees Scott out his arm around me*
* Mike stares at Scott and concentrates. Leaning on his Paladin gifts he opens himself to detect evil *
*We walk to the map room and I pull out a blank piece of paper and a pen* You promised... *I wiped away tears as he began to write down planet names and coordinates so that they can get there. He hands me the paper and smiles. I smile and take the paper* Thanks Scott. *I look down at Tor sadly and think to him* We're changing, Tor and not for the good. I can feel the evil in me right here. *I place my hand over my heart and Tor nods sadly saying he feels the same. I look at Scott* Once we leave hyperspace, you'll take us to the Unnamed Planet, right? *Scott nodded his head, promising me that he'll take me there, saying that we could be evil somewhere else by ourselves where we can't hurt anyone.*
* Mike comes in and takes Lacy's hand.* Come here just another second, okay?* Riddick enters and puts his arm around Lacy *
*I look at Riddick then you* Why? What's the point? I know what I am becoming and the sooner I get away from all of you, the better.
* Mike slaps his forehead and looks at you exasperatedly...Riddick just looks bereft *Lacy...you don't have to become anything you don't want to. No one and nothing can make you evil...it might get harder to resist but you get to choose. I feel no evil intent in you.
* Mike looks over at Scott*
On the other hand your friend here exudes evil intent... Don't just give up. Why quit and let..."them" win. You might as well have died where we were, but you didn't. You chose to fight. Don't stop fighting now.
*Scott just grins when you say he is evil. I look into your eyes* What if I'm not strong enough to fight it? I can't fight alone...and yea I have Tor but he is fighting it as well.
Lacy...what's the worst that happens? You lose right? How is quitting better than fighting? This creep is doing his best to encourage you in fear. Fear saps your strength. I don't want you to lose, but neither do I want you to fail without a fight. I suspect you, your existence may scare them to death and your new friend Scott probably hopes to find himself getting a promotion for taking you out of the fight without a fight.
Lacy...fight.
*I look over at Scott* Is that true? Are these even real? *I shake the paper at him. He actually holds up his hands and shakes his head, saying that they as very real and he wasn't trying to get me out of the fight but actually protect me from being used by his father* I'm so confused...I don't know what to believe anymore. *I cover my face with my hands, dropping the paper*
First get away from this viper for a while. Remember he's the pragmatic one of the board. He's the "just shoot him" guy, remember? Scott is arguably more dangerous than his father.Riddick help her back to her room if she'll let you...and stay with her, okay?
*I press my hand to my forehead, groaning. Tor looks at Mike* it's too much for her...she's going to black out. *Riddick looks at Mike, asking what the tiger had said but he got the drift as my eyes rolled up and I collapsed, Riddick instantly catching me. He picks me up and carries me back to my room with Tor at his heal, looking very worried. Scott turns to follow us.*
* Mike snatches Scott by the scruff of his neck*No, you've "helped" quite enough.
* Mike walks Scott by his neck to the brig...searches him thoroughly pitches him in the call and turns the force field on. *
You can call for any food you want, you've got a bed and a bath. Let us know if you want something to read.
*Riddick lays me in my bed, pulling the covers over me and sits down next to me, holding my hand. Tor lays at the foot of the bed, his giant head in his paws, his eyes sad. He lets out a long troubled sigh*
* Mike pus his head in *We've got the food reconstutier hooked up here just outside her door. Stay with her and when you need to be relieved call me and we'll trade off. I'm going to put that star chart S.E. gave Lacy through the computer.
* Mike heads for the control room knowing Riddick will there till Lacy comes around/ *
[off to bed. night]
*Riddick doesn't answer least acknowledge Mike. He slides off the bed into a nearby chair and watches me, his eyes narrowed and angry. Several hours later, I finally come to. I groan as I wake up, looking around my room and wondering how I had gotten there. Riddick quickly gets up, sits back on the bed, and holds me close, not wanting to let go. Tor jumps up and pads out of the room and finds you. He nudges your leg* She's awake...scared, disoriented, but awake.(Night)
