Grabs body parts and takes to the bay, opens the hatch and away they go off into the wild blue yonder. When I get back to Mike and Lacey I explain that the accelerator my not be such a good idea. It seems that even the atoms of these things can cause changes in humans ( not always for the worst)

*lays on my bed away from the guys, ignoring Riddick who was knocking on my locked door, trying to get me to open the door. I bury my head in my pillow and cry*
* wake up and find Arthur has sent body parts into vacuum of hyperspace...may have been the best solution. Limps down corridor and joins Riddick at Lacy's door. * Lacy...I know you need to deal with all this, but it might be best if you weren't alone, at least for a while.
I find a first-aid kit in a draw in the room and do quick battlefield patch job on Mike and haul him off the sick-bay
*walks to the door and unlocks it, letting it slide open, my eyes red from crying, my cheeks almost glittery from the tears. I lift my eyes to Mike's face* I think...maybe once we get to the planet..I should leave...you guys would be better without me dragging you down or getting you into danger...
Find my way to Laceys cabin open the door and ask if can join this party and tell lacey shes not going anywhere we need her. Now what next? Don't we have a jump to configure..
...Look Lacy, * you note that mike is now massively muscled and has a full beard and mustache* We're all in this together. You've saved me I've saved you..Arthur shot the beast and caused it to drop you. It's just you reacting to the change...no one blames you for anything. Come on. Well get you a tranquilizer with your next large Coke. * smiles and takes her hand, Riddick takes the other...a dog licks your face. *
*smiles at the dog the looks up at Mike. Let's go of his and Riddick's hand and hugs Mike, my body shaking from the emotions and guilt running through me*

....what's a Kodak...a bear? Come on we still have to scour the corridor and then get some food and rest and a bath and...* rubs chin* a shave.
*giggles and turns away from Mike, hugging Arthur, my shaking subsiding and my wings gently fluttering* No cameras...I don't want any pictures taken of me like this.(Headed to bed night guys! Hope I'll get to chat with you two tomorrow)

*steps away from Arthur and smiles* Thanks guys...you are really good friends to me. I promise I won't run off once we get to the planet. But Mike is right, we need to get cleaned up. I'm going to take a shower and see what I can throw together now that I have mutated. I'll meet you guys in sick bay. Riddick, you're in charge. Get these two in their quarters where they can clean up, you get cleaned up as well then get Mike here back to sick bay and hooked up. *Riddick nods his head, eyeing Mike and Arthur. I step forward once last time and quickly kiss Riddick on the cheek then do the same to Mike and Arthur before I step back and the door closes so I can get cleaned up in private*
Three days pass. all of us recover somewhat though we've taken to going armed most of the time. One of the Minbari crew members died but the other recovered. Her name is Shal Mayan. We find this is unusual as she is of the military cast but she was named after a poet. This was a Ranger ship but it was unaccountably attacked and apparently dragged into the giant ship that we escaped from. Everyone's mutations seemed to settled in. Mike has gotten bigger and more muscled. he wasn't an especially tall man to begin with but has now put on a couple of inches as his body grew all over. he settled on wearing a beard as trying to stay clean shaven seems impossible, the best he can do is trim it neatly each "morning". His sense of the animals has grown and he finds he can see through their eyes at a good distance if he concentrates. Also his senses of smell and hearing have increased greatly. He's faster, stronger and more "coordinated". He also has heavier eyebrows and in spite of being wonderfully friendly [I couldn't resist that] he looks rather threatening with his darker somewhat heavier countenance.
Tomorrow we come out of hyperspace and will have to act on the map Arthur found or not.
What do you think, Mike? Should we chance it? *I step closer, my hair still shoulder length and shaggy but has more golden colors mixed to match my eagle wings. I have taken to wearing tight jeans that tuck into my 4inch heeled boots with gears and zippers on them and low cut to tops that are cut in the back for my wings. That day I was wearing a low cut black tank top with a double chained choker with am antique key and lock dangling down the front lightly brushing my cleavage (hehe).i have grown use to my wings, hovering a little here and the as well as flying down the corridors when no one was around. I now control my claws and fangs and have the ability to speak more to cats and birds more than any other animal.*I don't want to fall into another trap. *leans gently against you as I glance to the map that was sitting on a table near by*
Well...I think we need to check out Riddick's home world since we're here, and I suspect that Riddick won't take it well if we don't. After we see what's going on there and see if we can find a hydrogen source to top off our burnable fuel we can jump again. There may be others of his people still in the ruins and the place is supposed to be dead. it can't be easy to survive even for them.* Mike has taken to wearing all black. The ship is able to synthesize clothes and it recycled our older clothes to make new one (though Mike was quite broken up at losing a rather dirty patched black jacket he could no longer wear). His old clothes useless he now wears a set of black chainmail. His weapons harness with his favorite weapons now adjusted to fit his larger form.
The ship it turns out is well supplied as the unchecked holds had been stocked for an extended patrol in hostile space. The surviving Ranger has no problem with continuing to look into this as it falls into Ranger's purview and I was a Ranger. She does wish to send a message to Ranger HQ by Tachyon beam when we come out of Hyperspace. *
[Out of character. I have a meeting with the ministerial group of our church tonight so I'll be off line around 6:00 and won't be back till probably after 9:00. You and Arther/Madjack feel free to carry on.]
You would be surprised...Riddick did survive on a frozen planet plus a planet infested with human eating bugs. His people would be the same way. *cocks my head to the side and takes a long look at you* You look completely different since we first met, Mike. You were handsome then but you are even ore handsome now. Black is a good look for you. *smiles and walks over to the table, leaning against it as I scan the map, chewing on my lower lip*(Lucky! I have to leave sooner than that. Have Open House and Art show at the preschool I work at. Oi! I'm gonna be tired lol)
Well you know I've gotten bigger and people always told me black was slimming...it didn't work, I'm no slimmer. * Mike grins at his own wit just in case no one else will*
I suppose that when we come out of hyperspace and go into orbit the first step will be to sweep the planet with sensors. I doubt that will help though as if they are alive down there they'd have been very careful to leave no trace. They'll probably be underground where the sensors won't reach. Maybe Riddick will have an idea?
*glances up from the map, having leaned on the table so that I can look across at you, my necklace dancing in thin air and smiles* It might not slim you down but once the girls see you on other planets they'll faint.*glances towards where Riddick sits, staring off into space.* I don't know if it has hit him yet that we are almost to his home planet. And I can always go down....I'm more sensitive to life forms than those stupid sensors.
*looks back at Mike and cocks my head to the side a little* When Arthur cleaned up the blood, did he touch any? I haven't seen him in a while. I hope he is okay.
He seems to sack out in his quarters a lot. I don't think so...we dumped everything including the extra arm into hyperspace...and the gloves we used when we cleaned up.
*nods and shifts my weight as I stand up, the choker clinking against my chest* Can I ask you a serious question, Mike?
*Looks up from read ours at Lacy*Sure, go ahead.
*traces my fingers across the map, eyes down* You don't think he is avoiding me for seem reason do you? I mean..he always acts a little strange around me..and truthfully you have to. Is there something wrong with me?
* Looks blank and at a loss *Okay first an answer...no. We are where we are. This is a big universe and frankly I've been in a few different universes. A pair of wings isn't really all the earthshaking. To me you're Lacy, the same friend I got into this with. Think about it, I could ask you the same thing...I'm sort of more threatening looking than I used to be .
* smiles *
Look Lacy I've never been good at intuiting things. It's apparently been very frustrating for certain women I've known in the past. I'm very much a what you see is what you get person. if I had a problem I'd tell you...and I won't lie to you. Remember when I told you that the mutation simply made you exotically attractive? Well, I meant it.
As for Arthur I doubt he's got a problem. he's just sort of a being all his own.
* smiles again, sardonically this time *

* walks around table console and hugs Lacy *

*smiles slightly and hugs you back, burring my head in your shoulder and sighing* Thank you, Mike...I guess my low self esteem kicks in still from time to time...I mean who could or would love me now? *breaks the hug and quickly wipes at my cheeks, hiding my face.* And as for you, there is nothing wrong with how you look. Your mutation has made you a protector, stronger, faster, and while on this adventure I feel safer.
* grins * Well, my clothes take more material now...and I can't use my good chainmail anymore. I had to have the ship whip this up.
* Bells and lights *
Okay, coming out of hyperspace. Lets strap in...we'll be in orbit in less than a half standard hour...if nothing else goes wrong.
*slaps forehead* I almost forgot! I'll be right back. Strap yourself in and I'll do the same once I get back. *Giggles and rushes off back to my room*
*Mike shouts after Lacy *Lacy!!!! You've only got a few Minutes!!!!
* Mike shakes head and grins. Goes to Riddick...and adjusts controls for softest possible re-entry to ordinary space *
*flies back in carrying a big blue bag and sets it down before strapping myself into a chair* yea and? *smiles at him, picking up the bag and clutching it to my chest* This is exciting! And the bag is for you once we are safely out of hyperspace.
...Uhhh, thanks.I hope Arthur is strapped into his bed.
* Ship jolts slightly...tremors and then settles in. Riddick triggers shields to open so viewing ports are exposed and we see normal stars. Riddick and I do some qiuck adjustments and before loge we've settled into a stable orbit over Furya.*
Alright....pretty much what we expected, barely breathable atmosphere, no obvious life, lots of craters. Humm Look here. Seems an asteroid has struck the planet since it was...decimated. On the bright side the asteroid seems to have been largely made of ice. It's formed a huge freshwater sea.
Oh...wait. New microorganisms in the water. We'll have to check that and make sure it's not deadly to us.
Okay. Back to normal, everybody unstrap and lets see what we've got.
*stands and stretches my wings* Maybe I'll actually get to use these things now instead of flittering around here like an over grown fairy. And Mike... *smiles and hands you the bag* I know it's not like your old jacket that you loved or your old chain,ail but both will fit...
Oh, you shouldn't have.... Nice. Of course it doesn't have all the patched bullet holes and slashes...yet. * grins at Lacy and give her another slightly hesitant "friend hug". * Your instructing me I guess. I was never a hugger.
*smirks* Neither was I. *the grins fades as I look back towards the planet below, my cat eyes dilating* Mike...remember how I am more sensitive than those stupid sensors?
Humm yeah, I also remember that neither Riddick or I are willing to let you go down there alone. We've already talked about it. Shal (the surviving Ranger) is going to stay here with Roddick and keep the ship running. Brown Knight and I are taking a shuttle down to the surface with you.
*makes a face at you* I would move faster if I was alone, you know that. You two will just slow me down...*stomps my foot and walks away, muttering to myself.*
* Calls Brown Knight (the largest of the dogs who has given Mike his "true name") and follows Lacy. as he walks into his quarters to finishing arming calls after Lacy*That doesn't mean you have to stay with us...just don't fly out of sight and stay in radio contact!
*I quickly arm myself as slip out of my room, heads for the two mini planes that are in the hanger bay and climbs into one* Yea well I don't want you guys being in danger either...you guys mean too much to me...*without wanting, I quickly turn it on, open the doors, and the plane drops, the hanger bay doors closing behind me and locking. I turn on my ear piece and start the engine, shooting off towards the planet*
* As Knight and I climb a shuttle (leaving plane in place as we don't plan to try and out fly Lacy) we launch and trace Lacy's decent. Begins calling on subspace radio*Uhh, lacy...I appreciate your obvious concern, but what do you think will happen if you get down there and vanish? We'll all start coming down one by one. Remember your own advice? That we shouldn't split up? Now please at least take a tracker with you and a communicator. With that we can track you and you can stay in contact with me and the ship.
Knight and I will land where you do...though a few minutes behind. Please do me a favor and stay in contact....
*curses under my breath for not having disabling anything else before leaving but doesn't answer. I quickly turn off the beacon that allows you to follow my decent and landing and veer sharply off to the left into thick clouds, the clouds making me vanish like a ghost. I don't answer you, willing you to go back to the ship and leave me.*
Riddick...track her. There's something wrong here. I understand she wants to protect us, but this doesn't seem right...
*chews on my lips as I see the planet flying up to meet me. I blink and gasp lightly at what I see under the blanket of clouds, not ice but a lush planet, the clouds and atmosphere having blocked all sensors. I smile lightly as I set my plane down and quickly climb out, brushing my fingers against a plant why sits next to my plane. I lock the plane and begin to fly, stretching my wings and breathing in the crisp sweet air. I glance upwards to the sky towards the ship then deciding not to talk just yet, kept quiet while I began to hunt for the wife I had felt moments before on the ship*
[I'm assuming that was supposed to be "life" not "wife" LOL]* contact Riddick and tell him I'm seeing signs of Terraforming here. Lots of plant life and the air reads clearer than the readings we were getting on the ship. He informs me that the planet must be lightly shielded to hide it's condition. If it's alive in this short a time it must have been Terraformed.
Begin landing sequence for shuttle...still calling for Lacy. *
(Yes that was supposed to be life not wife oi! Lol)*doesn't answer as I continue to walk, seeing strange looking butterflies floating past me. I smile it the smile vanishes as I step on a loose rock. The rocks give way under my weight, even though I am lighter, and before I can fly the rocks drag me down into a underground cave, a scream escaping my lips as I fall with the rocks and other debris.*
* Knight and I get out of the shuttle not far from the plane. We search around somewhat bemused by the live planet where we expected bare rock. Calling both verbally and electronically for Lacy we get no response. I sigh and growl a little. Touching Knight's mind I ask him if he gets any scent. He circles a bit and then takes off on a track...which soon ends near an are of apparently loose stone. But not only does the trail disappear, so does Knight.Mike sees Knight vanish...unbeknownst to Mike Knight has landed just behind Lacy in a cave. *
*I lay on the ground, breathing hard, blood sliding down my forehead, and pinned under a lot of rocks. I can't seem to catch my breath as some of the rocks lay across my chest.* Mike... * I whisper in a shaky painful breath only to then realize that the ear piece was gone, having fallen out of my ear in the fall. I groan as I try to move but can't* so much for being stronger....
*Lacy hears digging and gets a glimpse of a nose and paws trying to move dirt...then rocks start to shift and she sees Mike above her pulling rocks up and out *Okay, [Mike says this with a kind of grunt] So my greater strength does come in handy. Are you alright, Lacy? Can you hear me? Can you respond?
* Mike is slowly unearthing Lacy*
*i turn my head as a few rocks skitter by* Mike...be careful...I'm pinned and the rocks..they're on top of my chest, slowly crushing me....*my voice only comes out in a raspy whisper and I hope that he hears me*
