Banjomike | 5166 comments I wonder what the shelvers THINK they have shelved?

If you merge these two into a random book then the shelvers will find a random book appearing on their shelves with no explanation. I would think that deleting them would be the tidiest option.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments I agree--"delete"; they can always fan the authors rather than create the I-love-anything-by-books.

I agree, but I'd rather get confirmation by tPTB before just deleting something out of hand.

To tell you the truth this isn't even the worst I've seen. One person basically entered a personal phone book: complete with phone numbers and names in the description!

Definitely.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Maybe go in in the meantime while waiting for PTB and not-a-book the titles? They were definitely never a published book.

I wouldn't. Now that this thread is here we might as well let the PTB see the original, untweaked, problem. We can then know what to do in the future.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments How do nab'd books show on member shelves? Would it be readily apparent to the member shelving what had happened? Once nab'd, does that mean can no longer get reviewed, rated, etc.?

(I think I only nab'd something once that was an old piece of software on 3.5 inch diskette so never gave it much thought.)

It shows as whatever the title of the NAB'd book is. Regardless of the decision as to what to do to these books, NABbing is likely not gonna be a decision. Books are only NAB'd when they have an ISBN to prevent them from being re-imported. Books with no ISBNs are just deleted outright.

Since there are only a total of 5 shelvings between the two (without any real reviews), I'm fine with straight deletion. If there were more, I'd vote for [edit: merging into] the author's most popular book (or the first volume in their most popular series).

lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments OK, done. What, exactly, is "more"?

I don't have an exact number in mind. Plus, I'd want to merge if there were even one real review.
