What to merge these into

If you merge these two into a random book then the shelvers will find a random book appearing on their shelves with no explanation. I would think that deleting them would be the tidiest option.

I agree, but I'd rather get confirmation by tPTB before just deleting something out of hand.
To tell you the truth this isn't even the worst I've seen. One person basically entered a personal phone book: complete with phone numbers and names in the description!

Definitely.

I wouldn't. Now that this thread is here we might as well let the PTB see the original, untweaked, problem. We can then know what to do in the future.

(I think I only nab'd something once that was an old piece of software on 3.5 inch diskette so never gave it much thought.)

It shows as whatever the title of the NAB'd book is. Regardless of the decision as to what to do to these books, NABbing is likely not gonna be a decision. Books are only NAB'd when they have an ISBN to prevent them from being re-imported. Books with no ISBNs are just deleted outright.

Since there are only a total of 5 shelvings between the two (without any real reviews), I'm fine with straight deletion. If there were more, I'd vote for [edit: merging into] the author's most popular book (or the first volume in their most popular series).

I don't have an exact number in mind. Plus, I'd want to merge if there were even one real review.
