Currently there's a bug (see many threads here and in feedback group) where authors or librarians are having to go in and manually refresh ratings.
Now they are saying that sometimes the first refresh just "clears" so we are supposed to be refreshing twice.
Not sure how official; just what some librarians are seeing.
If you think of it, may not be a bad idea to glance at rating details box when editing a book in case they do need refreshing. Twice; refreshing twice; ... remember to refresh twice ...
In case a screenshot helps—to refresh book ratings manually, edit your book ("edit details" choice on book page), and at right roughly midway down is the refresh option.
(author of book will also see an option to set the primary edition)
