Well due to my own awesomeness, i was able to locate the name of the book. Oddly enough the book's name is Candles In the Wood. Yet if you search candle in the woods in google, nothing shows up.

i need help finding a book. it is an older book with elements of romance and mystery. the cover of the book was green with a blonde woman riding a horse. it was paperback. it is not Greenrider. this was not a fantasy book with magic or anything even close.
the title had words like 'candle' or 'light' and 'woods' or 'forest' (example: candle in the woods)
the setting is something like medieval times. and the book itself was old. i remember thinking this is good for an oldie. lol
the plot was something like this young woman goes back to this estate (not sure if it's her family's or not) but the new residents there consist of a father and two sons. of the two sons, one has gone crazy from fighting in a battle or war and the other is stable and logical. the young woman gets tangled in the complicated family's affairs and i clearly remember the father being a lecherous ass. the crazy brother snaps and tries to kill the woman (by drugging her and chaining her to this wall to torture her) and the sane brother saves her...and they live happily ever after...? i think the womans name is helen(a).
help, help...this is driving me insane!!
