Rosie Woolley | 5 comments I'm doing research about the American revolutionary war for my next book at the moment - it's fascinating to read journals from the time, particularly by women.

Elysia (elysia_rae) I personally prefer non-fiction books on history and it's really hard to pick a certain era in history! But I suppose I really like the 1700's in Germany and 1800's, though I love all different types of history so I can't really choose favorites.

Lynne Stringer | 117 comments I like things set in other worlds, in this one in a contemporary setting, and in the regency era.

message 14: by rzells (new)

rzells (rayraya) | 11 comments Ancient Rome hands down. The only thing is I can hardly find a great historical novel set in the time. It's frustrating.

I also like WWII novels. I'm thinking of All the Light We Cannot See, and the Book Thief.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I like WWII too. And the medieval ages and the colonization of America is interesting. That's what we're learning now.

Hi Rachel, I'm just starting 'Murder in Absentia' by Assaph Mehr, a fantasy novel set in Ancient Rome. It's received heaps of awards, so maybe one to add to your TBR?

message 21: by Adele (new)

Adele Jones | 6 comments I love reading novels set in the age of sail, but am happy to read any era so long as it's a good story and well written.
