The 14 issues came out over a period of eight years. It looks a bit like a co-operative effort.
Current editors listed down the right (27 of them):
http://nplusonemag.com/about
The author "n+1" is being used as the editor of the book/magazine and has 14 issues to "their" name. It makes sense to have a common link in the author field

Also, the editors have changed over time. I don't mind going through all the issues and changing authors/merging/etc, but I want to make sure I do it right the first time.
If I put 'n+1' as the editor on every issue and add the other writers as authors, will that be best practices?
Also, when I need to merge a duplicate, will I need to edit both so all the authors/editors are the same before I can do so?

Before merging would make sure the more popular edition did not leave out any of the authors on edition being deleted. To ensure stays on their author's profile.
Unless someone more experienced wants to weigh in saying the merge automatically keeps all the authors from both editions. I'm positive merging keeps all the reviews and ratings. Not seen anywhere where other information from deleted edition is sure to be kept unless you manually add to the kept edition.

Merging editions does not transfer authors; it doesn't transfer anything that you can edit on the edit page for the book edition. What transfers are readers' things such as shelves, reviews, statuses, etc.

Why is the ISBN listed as "Christophe"?
When I have added it, I have put the contributors names as authors. For the duplicate, 'n+1' is put as the sole author. Therefore, I can't merge them without changing all the author names.
What do you recommend I do to merge the duplicates?
