Book 2 prediction...

In one of the lowest ranking, struggling to eat/survive, young brother publicly whipped because he was so hungry he stole a bit of fool, problems it be to try to marry for love, and now the chance of losing America to the Prince. He probably was recruited during the training.
Let it note that I don't like Aspen one bit: he seems to be a bit selfish and egotistical when it comes to America. However, I think he would be a fool for not WANTING to be a rebel.
It's like if someone started to repeatedly slap you in the face, you're not going to just turn around and happily defend your slapper while they are still slapping your friends and family and a lot of other people. You're going to want to slap them back.

In one of the lowest ranking, struggling ..."
Now that you've mentioned it, it's also possible for Aspen to join the rebels.. grrr.. there's a lot of possibilities in the next book! ^_^

She is too good nature to be a rebel and she originally freaked out when they first attacked.I think Marlee is in love with someone in the castle.
Remember the day when the queens relatives came. She strangely wanted to stay in a certain spot where the sun was blazing down on her. I think she was waiting for someone. And it was around the same time that she disclosed to America that she wasn't in love with Maxon. I think she fell in love with someone during that time she was putting distance between herself and others. Maybe guard?
I think the choice for maxon would come down between celeste, marlee, and america. The other choices didn't have enough character development to be taken seriously. They will probably end up as the throw away characters. Whenever the author feels the need to eliminate a girl, they will be the first to go. (Like the girl who slapped Celeste... she was a throwaway)
The I think Marlee will take herself out the competition for love. ( I doubt seriously the author would pit Marlee and America against each other). Then Celeste will do something Eithcy to try to sabotage America. It wont work cause America will be picked at the end. I suspect that Aspen might either be killed off or dismissed.

OR, another weird twist that could happen is that Maxon sends America home and she'll find out she actually prefers him just as he's captured or something and she'll ask Aspen to help her find him by the end of the book.
OR the king is going to die, forcing Maxon to pick someone to marry immediately and maybe he won't pick America, or force her to choose/gives her an ultimatum.
Gosh, there are so many possibilities and I want the book to come out NOW!!! :'(

I was thinking the exact same thing

Maxom already told America that when she was ready, he would choose her in a heartbeat. All this waiting, is just waiting on her decision. He's already chosen. The problem is that America hasn't chosen, not technically.

Yes!!! for one side I think. But whatever she is, I think that she's pretty shady....... She is SOOO up to something....

I also share the theory of America getting kidnapped, that's also a really good theory!
P.S: I'm sorry if I have any grammatical/ortography mistakes, my mother language is Spanish, not English ;)

Do you think maybe the outsiders will turn out to be better people than they are made out to be? Maybe she'll find yet another love interest once or if she is kidnapped! That would be good!!

WAOH IF THAT HAPPENED THAT WOULD MEAN LIKE BOOK 3 AND 4 OMYGOD XD <3
Maxon will probably start to develop real feelings for America, but Aspen and her will keep their relationship strong with lots and lots of drama. And then Aspen will probably turn out to be a rebel.

OMYGOSH THAT WAS WHAT I WAS TOTALLY THINKING ;D

As far as Aspen joining the Rebels, I think the idea completely makes sense. What if he's already part of the rebels? Maybe he's in the guard so he can give inside information to the rebels?
I find the King to be really shady and I'm very suspicious of him. He's just too weird and must be up to something.
Also, it seems like everyone prefers Maxon but the thing is we don't really know Aspen that well. Now that he's at the castle, we're bound to get to know him better and I have a feeling the author is going to create a true love triangle in the second book which is going to make it much harder to choose between Aspen and Maxon.

I'm actually not sure...marlee doesn't love him, I think it's either going to be kriss or marlee with Maxon and Americ..."
No. America is the best girl for the country, and Marlee has no feelings for Maxon (and that feeling is mutual). Kriss . . . well, we don't know much about her. But Maxon obviously cares for America. Aspen only cares about the fame that America now has. I say Aspen is in it for the money he may (or may not) get.

I hope it does. Gale deserves what he got. As does Aspen (Yeah, Everlark and Maxerica shipper right here).

Me too! If you go to Kiera Cass' Pinterest pinboard for the Elite, she has a bunch of stuff--but there's a picture of a forest. That makes me think that somehow they'll be kicked out of the palace.
There's also a quote (from somewhere) and it says "Some people are meant to fall in love with each other but not meant to be together" and there's another one that says "You'll always be my favorite 'what if'" which better not be Maxon talking to America!!
(http://pinterest.com/kieracass/the-el... is her pinboard's URL)
I think a lot of you are skipping ahead to the third book. These all sound like things that would happen in the end (such as America choosing someone). All I can say is that The Elite is really, really good. :)

That's what I thought would happen! And I am firmly of the opinion that Marlee's secretly dating that guard America bumps into in the second chapter of The Elite. Something's definitely going to happen with the rebels, though.

Not only can a group of the rebels break into the palace, but they have kidnapped people BEFORE!!! Maxon even mentions that it does occasionally happen at one point telling America what happens in the aftermath of some of the rebel attacks. Secondly, Maxon also says to America "It's only a matter of time before they hurt someone important to me," or something along those lines. (My book is with a friend right now so I can't be sure of the actual quotation) It totally sounds a foreshadow!!!!! Because not only has Maxon made it clear that he really does care about America, but also now that Aspen has come back into the picture by the end of the book, so not one but two people will be fighting to get her back. Which would cause not only fighting-tension, you know, like battle scenes and stuff, but romantic as well, (which we all know is the best kind:)) And my final reasoning: HOW GREAT OF A PLOT TWIST WOULD THAT BE??? If she ended the second book with that kinda cliff hanger, I would defiantly have to read the next one!!! It would be a very tactical ending on her part, to keep readers wanting more :) What do you think? Bogus or Bubbly idea?
