If you are an author, by claiming your author profile, you do get some librarian access to your own books. If those are the only ones you want to edit, no need to apply for librarian status.

Again, to edit books for which you are an author , you want to claim the author profile.
To help with librarian work and keeping the goodreads book stuff all working, apply and let them know "why" or how specifically you want to help.
While waiting for an answer, I suggest you can start reading the librarian manual so you'll have a handle on goodreads policy/standards and be able to immediately go to work (plus keeping an eye on current threads to get an idea of the activities/editing requests we get and how they are handled). The manual is at http://www.goodreads.com/librarian_ma... . (If you lose that link, righthand column of help menu has a link to and so does this group at the very top group description).
Librarian status can get revoked for not following manual (at first, usually since everyone makes mistakes they hit "undo" and clear your changes and send you a message explaining; obviously if someone did something deliberate like going thru and adding mustaches on the models of bookcovers for an author they were feuding with....I suspect that would not even see "librarian status under review" and just get "revoked.")
Thanks,
Stacy
