Finished the first of two challenge picks:

I gave three stars on this one. I didn't dislike this book, but it didn't work for me on a few levels. It's a memoir, but I couldn't form a connection with the author. I think she'd be a cool person to hang out with, but some of her decisions and reasoning simply stray too far from my own. This isn't a right or wrong thing, just very different.

So I finished Defiance by C.J Redwine, (picked for me by Antionette) and I have to say that I loved it! I thought it had a great plot and interesting characters.
To me had the best mash-up of fantasy, adventure, and a little romance in the mix of things. Can't wait to read the next one!

This book was incredibly difficult for me to rate because I enjoyed SO MUCH of this book and I'm very happy to have read it - finally!
I gave it a three, because of how much was left hanging at the end, how many questions were left unanswered. I didn't get the 'closed door' feeling I wanted. Despite the parts I loved - and there were many - I couldn't shake the frustration of all the unknowns. I'm more of a 'why' person, instead of a 'what' person.
I realize this is a personal pet-peeve, and I would not hesitate to recommend this book to others.
