I have a suggestion; it could be ridiculously stupid, I don't know :) :

Could one of Daniel's dogs ( R and B) possibly sniff out the trail of the dead man? They don't have to discover it first, or anything?

What if Juliette finds it first and she's in complete panic then they amid out the trail and lead Daniel or whoever there? :) it's so not stupid at all! I like it!
