That delay is a bit of a worry: I received this book through the GR book review program and I worked really hard to read the book and review it quickly, (July 1)and 3 days later (Jul 4) my rating and my review don't show up to anyone unless they click on the 'alternate edition' - which they are hardly likely to do.

That would really be a question for the guys who speak programmer (not me!), but I think it has to do with server load and page loading times.

We have a LOT of book pages, and having them all update frequently would be a huge drain on resources.

message 53: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (anzlitlovers) | 133 comments Yes, I can see that. And GR is free to its users so I don't want to complain. (I'd be happy to pay a bit BTW, I have done so to be a lifetime member on Library Thing).
I've just posted my review again on the other edition in the meantime, and if it ever turns up on the 'alternate edition' I'll remove the duplicate.
Thanks for your help, Lisa

Heather T (horrorvacui000) I didn't know where to put this so I guess here works...

Kelley Armstrong has an online novella called Dangerous. Is that something that can be added to goodreads? I've seen other authors like Maria V. Snyder have theirs posted.

Yup, online publication of e-books counts as publication. Just check that it isn't already added and put as much information about the book as is available.

Unless the author specifically requests that it not be listed. Since Kelley Armstrong is a GR author, I suggest checking with her before adding it.

MissJessie | 866 comments I don't see what this was NAB'd:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...

since it's an audio cassette?

It's a radio drama (Mercury Theatre), not an audiobook.

message 59: by MissJessie (new)

MissJessie | 866 comments ah, thanks.

message 60: by Robin (new)

Robin | 12 comments Hi, I'm new to this Group and hope I'm doing this right. Although I don't have Librarian status best I can determine this is where to post errors in the book catalog. The error I found is with Highland Warrior by Hannah Howell which has 9 editions. The Kindle Edition has the correct description but the remaining 8 have the description for Highland Promise by Hannah Howell. The character information for all 9 editions is correct. Here's a link to the page with the 9 editions. http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...

message 61: by willaful (new)

willaful I may be wrong, but I think this can be easily corrected by changing the correct description to be the default. I'll see if I can fix it.

message 62: by willaful (new)

willaful That seems to have done it.

message 63: by Cait (new)

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Hi, Robin! This is definitely the right group to post in, and thank you for including a link to the book in question! You can always create a new thread under the "Book Issues" folder or make a comment on an existing thread which addresses the same problem.

I've fixed the descriptions of the Highland Warrior books to use the one provided with the Kindle edition. Do they look right now?

message 64: by Robin (new)

Robin | 12 comments Thank you Wench and Cait the descriptions are all correct now but I should also have mentioned that 4 of them have the wrong series. It should be MacEnroys #2 not Murray Family #9 Cait, As for providing a link you're welcome. Here it ia again so you don't have to scroll back up\down http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition... and thanks again.

message 65: by willaful (new)

willaful They're an offshoot of the Murray books, so probably the thing to do would be to keep the Murray info and add the MacEnroy info. I will get to that later, if someone else doesn't take care of it first.

message 66: by Robin (new)

Robin | 12 comments Sounds good but, and I'm not trying to be difficult but Murray #9 is a different title. I realize that sometimes Fantastic Fiction makes a mistakes but here is a link to not only Hannah Howell's page there but also one to her Highland page on her official site.

http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/h/h...

http://www.hannahhowell.com/HIGHLAND%...

Hope this helps, series that tie to other series can get so confusing. Thanks for your patience with me.

message 67: by willaful (new)

willaful I just fixed a book listed as a Murray when it was part of a completely different series, so I hear you! Hannah Howell's books, what with the series's and the retitling, can get very mixed-up.

message 68: by willaful (new)

willaful Well, it's not actually numbered but it looks like it's considered Murray #9 on her website. Except she's calling them "Highland" instead. We're supposed to give the author's usage priority over any one elses.

message 69: by willaful (new)

willaful Okay, so I've added the McEnroy info -- which was wrong at FF, by the way. Highland Bride is the first book that introduces the family. I'm leaving the Murray info because it's from the author's website.

message 70: by Trenice (new)

Trenice Hello,
My name is Trenice Carter. I was just granted an authors profile. However, I noticed there is no cover art for my book - Who Would Have Thought? Is this the right place to have that corrected? GR does have the correct cover in the database.

Thank you for you attention to this matter.

message 71: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 179 comments The entry without the cover was a duplicate entry with the ISBN in the wrong spot, so I deleted it. The one with the cover should be showing on your author page now. Make sure to search for an isbn to see if it is already in the database before you add a book.

Thank you so very much, Jenny :)

Deborah Ledford (deborahjledford) | 41 comments My apologies if this is the incorrect place to post. My brand new listing Crescendo has received one review and 3 ratings yet they aren't showing up on the line next to the stars under my listing details. Any suggestions how to rectify?

Whoa! This seems to have been rectified immediately. Thank you so much.

Bumping a thread from over 2 years ago is not the best place. Starting a new thread is always fine.

Deborah Ledford (deborahjledford) | 41 comments Okay, one more question: Crescendo is book 3 of the Steven Hawk/Inola Walela series. How do I get this title/cover icon added on the "Series by" area of my Author Page?

Okay, good to know. So sorry.

message 78: by Renée (new)

Renée Szostek | 1 comments The title of the book "Bonificious the Green" by Karin Anckarsvärd should really be "Bonifacius the Green." The extra "o" should be removed. Thanks!
