How do we want to use the "Currently Reading" bookshelf that displays at the very top of the group page? The goodreads system sends out notices to everyone when that changes and members of groups are in the habit of adding those books to their 'to be read' lists and/or immediately reading the books. Any time someone looks at a list of groups these selections show book images in a list. So it's a valuable space we should use.
Most groups have group discussion or some sort of voting (leave a note if you're familiar with the 'how to' details) to select which book they are reading "this month" and which book is "for next month". It appears we can put as many books as we want in there, within reason, so visitors can find the actual discussion thread lists below it.
I'd like to use that area to display books that are just launched like "Books New This Month", but everyone may have some better ideas on how to use that space. My testing so far shows we are stuck with the term "currently reading" as the default category.
If you have a book launched or to be launched this month then leave a link in the discussion thread so I have some test books to experiment on (such books will need to be loaded on your author profile for you to link them with the "add book/author" option, making sure you select 'cover' not 'link'). Otherwise I'll use one of my upcoming projects (a paranormal short story, a little romancy but a little violent and no HEA).
So how do we utilize the "currently reading" bookshelf?
John, one issue I can see about adding books coming out during the month, is if a book is coming out at the end of the month there won't be much exposure for that book.
