Wow, I'd say that you define the term "broad tastes!" Very cool!
Hello, I am Dragonfly on good reads. Hope that's ok with you all. I won a copy of The Twelve Tribes of Hattie, from First Reads giveaway. I was wondering if there was any one else who still has not received their copy of the book yet? Waiting to read all the posts until I get to start the book! Thx
Hello! My name is Amy. My favorite authors are Jane Austen and Ursula Hegi. I love to read with my favorite books being historical fiction. I recently published my first historical fiction novel entitled THE SANCTITY OF LOVE AND WAR set during World War II. My favorite books of all time -- Wuthering Heights, Sense And Sensibility, Stones From The River, and Cry The Beloved Country.
Hello everybody, my name is Elena Calin and I am from Bucharest, Romania. My favorite book is The Magic by Rhonda Byrne and of course I am a big fan of my two books Leader versus Manager and Hortensio and the Magic Stories which can be read for free on Goodreads or purchased from all ebook retailers.
Bridget Sampson, from Los AngelesIf you enjoy Oprah's picks, which I always do, you MUST read Is This All There Is? by Patricia Mann! You will be floored by this book, just as all the women who are talking about it on Goodreads and Amazon have been. It's a cautionary tale about a wife, mother and professor who is tempted to risk it all for a passionate fling with a young college student who showers her with attention. Readers are saying it's too real and hits so close to home, making them question everything in their own lives. Patricia Mann had to share this story, which came from the depths of her soul, to warn women and men about the realities of the devastation of infidelity. Not to mention how easily it can happen, even to the best of us. Please check it out! She's an indie author without a lot of money for publicity, but this book is a knock-out!
Is This All There Is?

I try to read a book every day as I sleep very little. I am presently reading my "seasonal" books, (that is what my husband calls them). A group of eight books I read at this time every year. I guess just because they make me think or feel good.pltdc

I recently finished The Twelve Tribes of Hattie and thought it was excellent. I look forward to discussing it with you and deepening my own understanding of the story and the characters. Happy Reading!
I am Dianne, from Aurora, Il. I think my favorite book is "Gone with the Wind", mostly because it was the first book I read as a child where the female character was strong, and I could relate to her. I was never a submissive little girl, and at the time that is how most female characters in books that I had read were written.
I'm Larissa, I'm from Kingston, NY My favorite author at the moment and probably forever is John Green.
Good afternoon, I am Jacq from Canada. It would be hard for me to pick a favourite book or author. I read a variety of books and authors. I do have a passion for Black authors and books that tell our stories.

Jacq wrote: "Good afternoon, I am Jacq from Canada. It would be hard for me to pick a favourite book or author. I read a variety of books and authors. Her husband was killed in 1957. She was left with eight minor children to raise on her own. She overcame mighty oppositions and triumphed despite it all.
Hi, my name is Ivory and I hail from Federal Way, WA but I plan to move to the wild east coast in Maine. It is really hard to zero in all my favorite authors but if I had to pick just one, I would choose Christopher Paolini because I LOVE fantasy fiction and especially dragons!

1. Where are you joining us from? Cheyenne from the Bay Area, California2. What is your favorite book or author? I read too many good books to pick out one favorite. I tend to go through author phases. LOL
Super late to the party, I know, but it took me a while to get the book from the library, and finish the previous book, so that I could start this one. Finished it today!

I was told by some not to add to the discussion... because I was not part of it. I do not think you can fault me for having a love of the writen word as I am a reading teacher. So this is ME: I live in St. George, Ut were it is warm then HOT "most" of the time. I can not say who is my favorite author without hurting one of the others. I love the children's book The Secret Garden by "Burnett" and Jude the Obsure by "Thomas Hardy". I enjoy most genre, (but no scary stuff please) including the works of "James Patterson", "Nichols Sparks","Alexander McCall", "Mary Higgins Clark", and just for the fun of it I reread all of "Janet Evanavitch's, Stephanie Plum books, all nineteen. I am excited to read The Twevle Tribes of Hattie because all of the comments I have read. If I were to choose one favorite book (which I don't think I could)it might be Jude the Obsure by "Thomas Hardy". If you were to as why would that depressing book be a favorite? I think that is very simple I have everything compared to the sad life Jude leads. As soon as my lesson plans are completed The Twelve Tribes of Hattie is the first book on my list. Hopefully I can be included in the discussion provided I have done this part right. pltdc

I'am out of here. I was just confused with another Pam Cooper. Hope she enjoys the book she won, I believe that changing my name is my only recourse to living a better life. As Edger Allen Poe once said..."I am insane with long intervals of horrinle sanity. I shall continue to read the best on my own.
Aloha from Kaneohe, Hawaii!Kristine Pierce here. :)
I am a stay at home mom of 2 toddlers (3 1/2 year old boy and 1 year old girl) and wife living on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. I finally found my true and long overdue calling - become a published author. As a graphic designer and visual artist (oil and acrylic on canvas), I also make sure I design my own book covers.
I have been a home maker and stay-at-home mommy and wifey for close to 5 years now. And life has never been better for me! I just love working from home even if I have to balance among the demands of motherhood, being a wife and writing my books. I am definitely taking control of my life, love, dreams and goals…all in the comfort of my home and family.
I love playing with my two babies, gadgets, trying out different cuisines, traveling, and of course - very passionate about reading and writing books in the contemporary romance, paranormal romance genres.
I look forward to interacting with all of you!
Aloha!
PS. My favorite book so far is Life's Golden Ticket by Brendon Burchard...on the look out for my next favorite one! :)
