Those are all really good! And really long....
I'd definitely add Fairy Tale to your list. That's such a good book!

My favorite Stephen King book so far is The Long Walk. I'm thinking of reading The Stand next since I've been in the mood to read apocalyptic and dystopian books lately.

Jacqueline Eakins | 1 comments Hi! I’m Jacqueline from North Carolina. I graduated from high school last year and after a long break from reading I am back in the game! Stephen King is an author I was definitely interested in but I never had the confidence to finish one of his novels until now. I’m currently reading “‘Salems Lot” and I am completely engrossed. Very determined to finish this one so I can start the next right after. I’m hoping I can grow my love for Mr.King and continue my reading journey with you lovely people!! I’m very glad I found this group at 11:30 pm :)

LTJ (ltj81) | 379 comments @Jacqueline: Welcome and happy belated graduation last year! I'm glad you're back into reading and being a Constant Reader once again.

I loved 'Salem's Lot and hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I look forward to future discussions with you :-)

Timi Borsos | 1 comments Hi Everyone!
I am Timi from Hungary. I’ve been a huge fan of Mr. King’s books for almost 15 years. Fortunately, Hungarian translation is on the top, but sometimes I re-read my favourites in English. Such as It or Children of the Corn which is my ‘comfort novel’ somehow :D It’s funny that how others are shocked when I say “Yeah, a horror story is my comfort book” but it’s more like the universe for me. Now I read Under the Dome for the first time, and even if I’ve just started, already love it! Last year I’ve read my first Joe Hill’s story, and I am so happy because ‘the apple doesn't fall far from the tree’ :)

message 4823: by F.C. (new)

F.C. Schaefer | 174 comments Welcome, Timi. And Children of the Corn is among King's best early short stories. It creates a sense of palpable dread, and then pays it off right at the end.

message 4824: by LTJ (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 379 comments @Timi: Welcome and that's so awesome you've been a Constant Reader for that long! I'm going on a little over 20 years here and have been loving it :-D

LOL I get the same thing in a lot of the general book clubs I'm in on Facebook. A lot of people don't get that YES, horror can be comforting, relaxing, and flat-out awesome! I need to read more Joe Hill for sure since I have also been hearing that as well.

Welcome, Timi! I understand what you mean about It. Many of King's books give me that same feeling. Keep reading!

Kellie | 106 comments Welcome Jared. It’s great to have you. I haven’t read the Running Man yet but I remember I really loved the film when I was young. And watched again a few months ago. I have always wondered how close to book it is. Now I know it’s different I am looking forward to finding out how different it is.

message 4828: by Jason (new)

Jason Mueller (truebrewfan11) | 2 comments Hi! I’ve read almost everything by Stephen king. I think the only one I haven’t is the girl who loved Tom Gordon! I have the pop up book edition, so maybe I’ll read that! I’m always experimenting with different authors, unfortunately I have a short attention span when it comes to poor writing!

I plan to FINALLY read The Dark Tower series probably in July or August in its entirety, LoL so many books in that series but everyone says it's King's best work so I'm excited!

Kellie | 106 comments Welcome to the group Faith. I have also just been in a reading slump myself for the past year and a half. It was actually Joe Hill’s Heart-Shaped Box and last months King book, Just After Sunset that finally got me out of my slump. I am glad to be out of it.

Julia | 224 comments Hello everyone. My name is Julia I'm from Greater Manchester in the UK. I have been a King fan for as long as I can remember. I have read nearly all his books and am especially fond of the Dark Tower series.
I haven't got round to adding them all to my profile yet there are way too many..!! ;)
My next read will be Fairy Tale..

message 4838: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Julia I liked Fairy Tale I hope you enjoy it too.

Thank you, looking forward to it.
The Dark Tower series blew me away the first time I read it, I have so much affection for these books I have read them twice more since. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. I couldn't put them down..!! :)

LTJ (ltj81) | 379 comments @Julia: Anytime, my new friend! I can't wait to read The Dark Tower series, I'm thinking of July or August. LoL I'm reading them all consecutively so that'll be a first for me :-)

Thanks and will keep you posted! I'm excited :-D

message 4845: by Julia (new)

Julia | 224 comments Please do. I'll be interested to see what you think of The Gunslinger before getting into the rest.
Some think it's a marmite kind of book. I liked it and felt it set the tone for the rest of the series.. :)

message 4846: by Kellie (new)

Kellie | 106 comments I have personally found it difficult to get into the Dark Tower series. I read the Gunslinger and hated it. I almost gave up on going forward but decided to still give Drawing of the Three a go. It was so much better but I didn’t love it. I am hoping the third book gets better? I would like to see why so many people love the series.

message 4847: by lauren (new)

lauren (crochetguevara) | 1 comments Hi, my name is Lauren! I have been reading Stephen King since I was in middle school. I think reading Misery, The Shining, Pet Sematary, Firestarter, and Dreamcatcher in the span of a few weeks was a totally life changing experience. It really opened my eyes to what reading could be- I was engrossed, I was terrified, and I was somewhere else entirely. Stephen King is so awesome. I'm happy to find a community of like-minded people!

message 4848: by LTJ (new)

LTJ (ltj81) | 379 comments @Julia: Will do and hell yeah! I've never read them as I said but I can tell you that MANY of my friends are Constant Readers for decades. The majority say that The Dark Tower series is King's BEST work and to me, that says a whole lot. The only complaint is that yeah, LoL these will take time to get through since they're a whole book series, large books, etc.

That’s a really good question. For me I loved all of the characters in the books, they all had something in their lives that defines them and I enjoyed their back stories. I loved the way the books flowed, the rich world building and the bonds created by what the characters face in the books.
I’m interested to know what you didn’t like so much about the Drawing of The Three..?
I do hope you enjoy the next one more.. :)
