Agreed

My names is Guethy, I am a huge fan of SK. The first book I read from him was Carry... I am not a massive reader, but "this book" opened my eyes to a all new world.
I'm currently reading IT, which is mind blowing, so much better than the last movie ( part 2)

I almost finished IT. Closer I get to the end more I'm getting exiting and nervous.
The 2nd part was more spooky than pure horror so... Anyway, as soon as finish this book I will have special IT night with both version, from the 80's and 2000. Than next! Salem or the Great storm... decision decision

Welcome! We're all readers here, so you are in good company. ;-)

I can't believe ive only just found this group! Im a big SK fan and currently making my first journey through the Dark Tower series. Really looking forward to being part of this group :)

Constant reader since I was 12, turn the big 4 and O this year, so it has been a while.
I reside on the Isle of Man (a tiny beautiful Island in the Irish Sea, between England and Ireland) where I work for Government as head of esports.
I also have read just about every King story but…. never been able to get into Dark Tower! 😬 I have read Gunslinger so many times but just have not found it was the right time, but I really do want to go on that journey. Will try again this winter no doubt.
Only just joined Goodreads and looking forward to reading and writing reviews and joining in some discussions with you fine folk.
Cheers
Chris

You're welcome Chris! Happy to help!!

My name is Dave and I'm a librarian and podcaster based in Austin, Texas. I've been reading Stephen King since I was 11 or 12. I think my first was Salem's Lot and I was hooked! I have to say, I've read a lot of the major novels over the years, but haven't always kept up with King's output over the past 10 or 15 years, with the exception of 11/22/63, Doctor Sleep, and The Institute. So I have a lot of backlist books and newer releases to finally catch up on. Meanwhile, I'm doing a (very slow) chronological reread from the beginning and I just hit The Shining (3rd time?). I'm happy to find your group and all of the great discussion here!
Happy reading,
Dave

I’m Hannah and I read my first Stephen King novel two years ago (I started with The Green Mile!). He’s since become my favourite author as I’m just in awe of his writing. I’ve read a handful of King’s books but I still have so many to read!
I’m currently reading the dark tower series and am loving it so far!

I'm Julia (26) and I'm from Germany! I read my first King novel (IT) in 2011, loved it in general, but hated the ending (maybe, because I wasn't fully aware that King's speciality is horror and not realistic crime (with a bit of horror in it) *shame on me*. I know it better now, I promise). Read a few other books and short stories, liked them too but for reasons I'm not aware of I stopped reading King. But, to be honest, I never stopped thinking about his talent.
Long story short, as my next project I want to read all of his books chronologically. I will be starting with Carrie soon (buddy readers welcome). I guess this project will keep me busy for a few years. :) I don't intend to read them one after another, but who knows?
I'm happy to be a part of this group!
P.S. I'm a newbie at this group thing on goodreads. If I make any mistakes, just let me know :)

I was hoping to be able to read "It" with other people on here, if that's allowed. Thanks all!

The thing I enjoy most about his writing style is the head-hopping! I love knowing what makes each character tick, their internal thoughts tell all.....

lol Thanks!
