Cassi Hurley | 1 comments Hey I’m Cassi. I read SK’s IT a few months ago and now I’m hooked! My parents have been long time SK fans and now I’m proud to be one too. I just finished Different Seasons, the Afterwards part really made me appreciate books and rediscover my love and joy that comes from reading (consciously rediscover I mean). There’s SO many options for what to read next so I thought I’d join this group to give myself some direction. Happy reading to you all!

He has such a large body of work that you can completely immerse yourself in him, if you choose.

Welcome!

Bibiana Dear | 4 comments Hi everyone! My name is Bibiana, from Slovakia (central Europe). I've loved Stephen King's work and the way his mind works since I was probably 15 (now 29). I like reading multiple books at a time, one of which is always his book. As for probably everyone here, my goal is to read all of his books.
PS: Have any of you heard of the show The Kirlian Frequency on Netflix?
I was soo excited when I recognised several of Stephen King's books in it and then I meticulously checked the ending credits and there they were! An inspiration!

Welcome! I had not heard of that show, but will definitely be checking it out. Thank you!

I second the Kirlian Frequency! The art is incredible looking, and several King references.

Wiktoria S | 3 comments Hi my name is Wiktoria.
I am 17 years old and I live in Germany. I am from Poland so I read my books in both languages. I also enjoy reading in English. Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. The first book I read was Carrie a few years ago. Now I own 26 books by Stephen King.
I am new to goodreads and hope to be able to read more with it and discuss the books.

Karolien ✨ | 3 comments Hiya my name is Karolien,
I am from the Netherlands and Stephen King is one of the first authors of which I started reading in English. My King Collection at the moment is pretty small. I own the shining, iT (started but not completed), Rita Hayworth and Shawshank redemption(started but not completed) and the institute (have not begun to read yet but I’m very excited) just thought it would be cool to Nerd out to his beautiful writing :)

message 4064: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 163 comments Hi Karolien. Shawshank is great, and so is IT, but they are completely different types of books, so enjoy!

Stephanie Ollestad (ollestad42) " Hello!
My name is Stephanie and I live in the state of Pennsylvania, USA.
I am a major mystery fan!
I am a new empty nester, sort of. Both my children are starting college, but are currently still at home for obvious reasons (Covid). But I no longer have practices, activities or other such events that have to consume my time. So read I must!
My goal is 5 books a month. Crazy!?

Welcome, Sandy! Isn't sharing a reading love with a child the best?! I share love of certain authors with each of mine, and it's always a better read when we can talk about it.

Chris Hare (bookclub4men) | 1 comments Hello, I'm Chris and I was introduced to books by Stephen King by my mom who was and still is addicted to books, when I was a young teen. My first attempt was Christine and I couldn't stick with it, and the book lost to typical teen distractions available to me in the 80's. It wasn't until I was in my late twenties that I started to read for pleasure. As of 4 days ago, I started Salem's Lot and I can't stop reading it, my mom is tickled. I plan to read 3 of his novels this year in order within his universe.

Chad | 5 comments Hello, my name is Chad and I live in the state of Nevada in the US. I was introduced to the works of Stephen King by my mother who was a huge fan of his early books from the 70's and 80's. I began reading his novels in 8th grade when I read Cujo. I really came to appreciate just how imaginative his work could be once I read The Gunslinger. As a fan of fantasy as well as horror, I was hooked and the Dark Tower became my favorite book series of all time. I'm hoping to finish his entire collection over the course of the next two years and then begin a re-read of The Dark Tower novels once I complete that.

message 4082: by Moony (new)

Moony (nothnglasts) Hi! My name's Svetlana and I live in Minsk, Belarus. I got introduced to Stephen King during my school years and the first book that I read was Needful Things, which quite impressed me actually. However, till this day my favourite one is still The Shining. Even though I like Pet Sematary, Carrie and his other works a lot too, but there's something about the story of the hotel that makes me get back to this book again and again :)

Erin (ems84) | 2669 comments There hasn't been an update, on the limited series, since it was first announced in 2019 and David E. Kelley was going to be developing it. I hope it happens, I think he could make a really good series out of it.

message 4087: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan | 3 comments Hello! My name is Siobhan (Sha-Von lol ) and I love Stephen King! My grandma actually is the one I can thank for this! She sent me Rose Madder and Desperation when I was 15. And when I was 20, I discovered The Dark Tower, which is my absolute favorite! I have ready through the series twice (I have kids so it would be more, probably lol). I am glad to be part of this group! Thank you! :)

Sara Davidsen | 5 comments Hello my name is Sara I'm 20 years old I'm from Denmark.
I'm a big Stephen King fan even tho I haven't read a lot of his work. this will hopefully change since I joined this community.

currently, I'm unemployed still living at home but that will change in a couple of months (or 6 I think cant count haha) hopefully I still will have the time to read because I'm now in 2 different communities and I'm working on a bigger assignment that takes up most of my reading now.

currently reading a book about memory (for my assignment) & everything is fucked.

message 4092: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Corridan | 5 comments Hello my name is Andrea and I live in Northern California. I have been a fan of Stephen King since I ran across one of his books in the public library in 1980. I think it was Cujo but I honestly can't remember. From that point on, I just started going down the line of what was available and devoured them. I loved all his books but The Stand will always be my all time favorite. His new books are at the top of my birthday and Christmas wish lists every year. I am pretty sure I have read every book, now that I have found this group I can make sure I have not missed any. Looking forward to re-reading and remembering my old friends that I grew up with.
