Jessie Hartness | 1 comments Hi everyone I’m Jessie. I have been reading Stephen King since I was a kid LOL. I used to steal my moms books and sneak them back because I probably was way too young to read them 😂 I absolutely love reading. Anything and everything, although a horror/psychological thriller is always my go to. I’ve read the dark tower series a few years ago and I’m currently almost done with the audible version, which I strongly recommend! I hate and love how sad I get when I’m almost finished but seeing how many of his works tie into this series, I’m even more excited for what references I find in the others.

Also I’m currently a registered nurse but I’ve always had a passion for writing so any tips on how to approach freelance work... I’m all ears! I’m happy to be in this group and I’m really excited to read the current book!

Dylan Hi there, I'm Dylan! I read IT a couple of months ago and I loved it so I'm trying my best to read more King novels now. Currently I'm reading The Stand on my kindle but I also have paperbacks of The Outsider, Blaze, Skeleton Key, Misery and Pet Sematary waiting to be read (I have a nasty habit of buying books faster than I read them!). I also read the first four Dark Tower books a few years ago but I didn't fully appreciate/enjoy them, I'm hoping that once I've read more of King's other novels I'll enjoy the rest of the series more.

I think a lot of us buy them faster than we can read them. I still have a stack of King books I haven't read yet. I plan on getting to them though!

message 3958: by Dylan (new)

Dylan I ended up buying another one today (Elevation, loving it so far) and I forgot to mention in my previous comment that I also have The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon on the way hahaha. I also have 11/22/63 and The Shining tempting me in my cart

Peter Topside My name is Peter and I am a new self-published author of the horror genre. My books are heavily influenced by Stephen King. I've read Desperation, IT, Eyes of the Dragon, and the first portion of Salem's Lot (I plan to reread in full in the near future). He has so many works that I've lost track over the years, but am always curious if anyone has specific King works that really stood out to them.

Ian | 3 comments Hello, everyone. My name is Ian. I'm from Kansas in the States. Been a King fan for many years. Apart from introducing myself, I also wanted to let everyone know that a friend and I recently started a podcast called The King's Men, where we talk about all things Stephen King. Our goal is to go through every book, in published order, as well as the many tv and movie adaptations of those books. If this sounds at all interesting, please check us out here https://www.buzzsprout.com/1267550 or search for The King's Men on Apple/Spotify/Google Podcasts, etc. Appreciate the listen and hope you enjoy!

I have been reading King’s work ever since my Mommom (Great-grandmother) gave me her copy of “The Green Mile” two years ago. So far I have read The “Green Mile”, “The Stand”, “Misery”, “Salem’s Lot”, and “Different Seasons”. Although I have only read a handful of his work, I am very much looking forward to discussing some of King’s works.

Megan Aguiar hi everyone, my name is Megan. I am from Canada. I have always loved reading. I have always enjoyed the movies and shows based off of Stephen King novels but had never actually picked up one of his books until about 2 years ago while I was in the hospital. While I was there I picked up my first king novel which was "Misery" ever since then I can't get enough. I unfortunately do not come on this group very often but would still love to get suggestions on other king novels or just other books in general.

message 3996: by Naomi (new)

Naomi | 1 comments Hi guys, my name is Naomi!
Always wanted a goodreads account as I’ve been reading for years, finally signed up last night!
I’m 21, from Australia and Stephen King is my absolute favourite author!
He has so many books, and I can often find them in op shops/thrift stores so for the last year or so I have been on the hunt for new ones and I have been reading them alongside my usual book lists.
I’m up to 23 collected and 13 of those have been read (out of my list of 73 books!)

Would love to connect with anyone on here, chuck me a follow or a friend request or a message anytime! ☺️☺️

I have been reading Stephen King since high school, IT was my first book I read and I was hooked ever since. I finally joined GoodReads after my sister recommended and funny that I was reading Needful Things before I had joined and that is the September book! I also had borrowed Gerald's Game (which now I am reading) from my brother in law and that is the book for October! Still have a lot of Stephen King books that I haven't read so any recommendations are appreciated! Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

Cayce | 1 comments Cayce, long time Constant Reader here. I read Carrie in '76 in middle school, when the original movie came out. The parents wouldn't let me see the movie, but I could read the book. How does that even make sense? :) I followed that with Salem's Lot, The Shining, and The Stand, and it was a done deal. King was my fav author - number one with a bullet. I've read every book since, usually the day it comes out.

I was just introduced to Goodreads, and of course the first thing I'm doing it checking out the Stephen King group. :)
