I'm a constant reader, horror book collector, and currently working on a book myself which I hope to self-publish early next year! I live in Nottingham, UK. Hi everybody,I'm Bobbie and I live in Maine. Yep, approximately 2 hours drive from Stephen Kings house! Been there, Ohed and Ahhed over the fence and the huge frog,lol. I have loved reading his books since day one, my all time favorite is The Shinning, I swear I was afraid to turn the page to see what I was going to read next! Proud to be included in the group!
My name is Fred, and I have been a Constant Reader of Stephen King ever since I picked up a paperback copy of The Shining decades ago, and got lost in the magic of his writing, and the wonderful characters and places he creates. Since then, I have scratched a life long itch, and tried my hand at writing a few novels myself, mostly horror and alternate history, and am even trying my hand at fantasy. But nothing I write comes close to matching The King, though I have found his work to be full of great lessons for any writer, and, of course, his On Writing is required reading. I started writing because like so many King fans, I am addicted to the power of a good story, well told, and wanted to try and give back some of the joy I have experienced in my life (and make a little green at the same time). Proud to be included in a group with so many passionate people.

I try to learn from what he does, but it's humbling because he is so damn good. BTW: Totally agree about ON WRITING. It should be required reading for any would-be writer or anyone who wants to know more about King's life.

Hi! I’m Kayla. I recently just started an account on Goodreads and stumbling my way through. :) Horror is my favorite genre, although I sometimes read other things. Stephen King was the big influencer in choosing horror, and I started reading his books when I was about 8 at the behest of my dad who is also an avid reader. Anyways, happy to be here! I’m hoping to form some friendships and get some good recommendations.

Hi everyone! I’m Chiara from Italy! Reading is one of my favourite things to do as soon as I have time to do it. Because when I start a new book I become obsessed with it and I have to finish it as soon as possibile so I need time to do this ahah. KING is absolutely my favourite because I love everything that is horror, thriller and anxious. And he is very good at this.

My favs so far are The Stand, The Shining, IT and Salem’s Lot.
I didn’t get on well with Pet Cemetery, Bag of Bones, Dolores and Dark Half. I might try to pick these up again and give them another go but unsure.
One of my favs though that is more obscure but I thought was brilliant was The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, highly recommend that one if your looking for a lesser know King.

Hi Paige, I loved Tom Gordon too. If you want another lesser known favorite you might try Joyland, a little lighter but still excellent King.
Hi! My name is Emily and I’m from Preston in the UK.I’ve always read books here and there but in 2018 I decided to pick up IT and fell in love with the horror genre and Stephen King! I’ve been reading pretty much non stop since then! I’ve always loved horror but never thought to read it for some reason. I’m so glad I did!
My favourite Stephen Kings so far are IT, The Shining, The Dead Zone, Misery, ‘Salem’s Lot, Carrie and Full Dark No Stars! I’ve read quite a few others that I really enjoyed too and the only one I didn’t rate was Doctor Sleep. I’m really intrigued by his latest book The Institute as it sounds a lot like Hear the Children Calling by Clare McNally, (which I loved!) so I’m hoping to pick up a copy at some point!

Stephen King definitely belongs to my favorite authors and my all time favorite book by him is The Green Mile (it's my favorite book in general along with "The Idiot" by Dostoevsky). Currently i am reading On Writing (which my teacher recommended a lot too) and so far i have been enjoying it a lot, i should be finished with it by next week.
Once in a while i also go through Pet Cemetary again, which i read for school first time when i was around 14 years old, but now check it again as audiobook because i don't remember much of it anymore. Doctor Sleep was the latest book i finished reading and i enjoyed it a lot.
I'm hoping to pick up with Salem's Lot or reread The Shining (since it's also been a long time i've read it) after i've finished the books i have in progress rn.
Welcome Lillie-Marie. Pet Cemetary as an audio book is wonderfully read by Michael C Hall. Definitely worth the listen!

Hi Lilli-Marie. I really enjoyed The Idiot. It was my favorite novels for a very long time. These days I'm more into Mr. King. I loved Salem's Lot, The Shining and The Green Mile. Welcome.

Salem's Lot is one of King's best, you will enjoy it.
Hi, I just joined. I read avidly in my youth but then a very busy job and life took over. Made a commitment to reading again and started with my favourite author - halfway through 11.22.63 and loving it.
Hi folks! My name is Julie Anderson. I have been reading King since the mid 90s (feels like yesterday...). I was recently gifted the majority of his books by a co-worker who is looking forward to moving and retiring, and found it fitting that I would start at the beginning and work my way up to present. I'm up to The Talisman, but I did take a break to read Doctor Sleep. I read other authors and am an author myself, though not very prolific.Thank you for the add :) I'm looking forward to some great discussions.
