Introduce Yourself- part 2
Hello everyone! My name is Sonja from Sydney, Australia. I just finished reading my first (I'm late, I know) Stephen King book - The Long Walk and loved it, so naturally I have decided to attempt to conquer the monolith of what is The Stand. I just started it this morning and am enjoying it thus far. If anyone else is reading it at the moment, let me know so we can discuss!
I'm Maria from Tennessee. I've been a SK fan since middle school. I've read It, Duma Key, Rose Madder (my fave), The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Carrie, Pet Semetary, From a Buick 88 (something like that), Christine, Insomnia (horrible), and some others. I'm reading Lisey's Story now.
Oh and 11/22/63. And I'm sure others from middle and high school that i can't remember.

Hi everyone, I'm Dallas and I'm fairly new to goodreads. I've grown up reading King, starting with Firestarter and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I recently started the Dark Tower series, but am taking a break to read through some of the books that tie in. Currently on The Talisman and I'm liking it much more than I anticipated. Hope to join some of the discussions.

Hey everyone. So I've been on Goodreads for a while. I have always liked King. I don't share his political views and he is very vocal about them so I try to avoid hearing him talk about them. I think my favorite book so far was Cell but only because it was newer to the apocalyptic theme that has been so prevalent the last ten years. I do read other stuff and other genres. I write too but I haven't written horror yet, oddly.I am 47 and just got out of a 10 year relationship so I'm "finding myself" as they say. Reading more, writing more and getting into shape after being too lazy for too long. I am hoping to have more of a family or circle of friends on here that I can relate with.

Then I write a book that had one scary chapter in it. My writing guru said, throw the rest of the book away and write a book about that chapter. Then he added, read Stephen King, and do what he does, even if you have to copy him word for word. I never quite did that, but I might have come close. Anyway, I suggest you try a little horror. Maybe based on the scariest experience you ever had.
Hello, I’m Patricia and have been a Stephen King fan as long as he has been publishing novels. We are about the same age! My favorites include The Stand, The Shining, oh never mind, it would just take too long to get that list down. When Misery came out, I started the book at night. I should have known better. Read all night and called in sick next day to finish the book. I love most of his work. My husband insists that we sat across from him on a train from New York to Chicago one afternoon. Glad I found this group.
Oh, I reread Bag of Bones every couple of years I think it’s genius.

I don't know why but I can only buy King in 1st edition.

I did see one book 1st edition the was going for in excess of 7,000 dollars.

Hi to all. My name is Megan. I've been a Stephen King fan since I was 9. Believe it or not, the first novel I read of his at 9 years old was "Gerald's Game". The Space Cowboy gave me the chills each time he would appear in between Jessie's nostalgic and somewhat neurotic episodes. Since that first read, I've started reading more of his work - I fell in love with Trisha, the Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and have been collecting all of his books since. I own approximately 62 books of King's and am still collecting. Thank you.

That space cowboy gave me chills too, He's one of King's worst villains.

For some reason it made me all the more hyped up on King. I've read a lot of other horror fictions but nobody gets to my nerve like King does.

Hi, I'm Kelsey. I'm from Kansas City, Missouri, and I'd wish I'd found this group sooner! It's refreshing to see so many fellow Constant Readers! Anyway, I've been a Goodreads member for about 3 years, but a Stephen King fan since I was about 8 when I first saw The Green Mile on television. My mom introduced me to him, being a huge fan herself. She handed me down her collection of Stephen King books, which as I got a bit older would grow to love and couldn't get enough of. I grew up on King, and horror movies. I haven't read nearly all of his books, maybe 35 of them so far, but if I had to pick a favorite it would have to be The Stand. Enough rambling though, thanks for having me.

Like Kelsey the Stand is the top of the list along with the Long Walk and the Mist.
