Amber Kreis (amberkreis) | 1 comments Hi there, fellow King connoisseur's!

My name is Amber, I am a SK addict. I'm a military wife, home educating mom to three, a boardgame maven, and a book reader/hoarder.
There is an honorary SK only bookcase in my living room. Hardback, paperback, collector's editions, anything SK and family (because Joe Hill is a new fav) is welcome on that bookcase. The whole family understands and participates in aiding my addiction. There's nary a used or new bookstore, or thrift store, around that we don't go straight to the King section to see if they have any of the few I don't have.

The first King book I read (Rose Madder) was 22-23 years ago. A military brat in The Land of the Midnight Sun, I have always been an avid reader. Now, here I am back in The Land of The Midnight Sun and still just as in love with reading and SK books as I was after devouring the story of Rose. Being a Halloween baby I had seen many SK movie and series adaptations, but nothing beats the book.
My love and addiction has rubbed off on my amazing hubby. He currently finished the Bill Hodges trilogy and is reading Gwendys Button Box.

I'm excited to be around my King peers and hear your thoughts on all things SK, new and old.
Happy Mother's Day to all the SK fan moms out there!

Stephie | 1 comments Hi my name is Stephanie and I have been a King fan since read Carrie back when I was in school many years ago. I have all but 5 of his books in hardback first editions, just received The Outsider today in the mail. Look forward to being apart of the group.

Wow, that's impressive. I'm trying to collect all of his books too, but they aren't first editions. I still have a lot to collect though.

message 3208: by Matt (new)

Matt | 193 comments Hi Stephanie, welcome. I've got a lot of first editions, still missing eight I think (Canadian exchange rate keeps the collecting slow). It's definitely a challenge, especially for SK's older books and The Dark Tower. Hope you attain the five.

message 3211: by Agave (new)

Agave | 5 comments Hi, I think the first Stephen King book I read was Pet Semetary in High School. I just finished The Outsider. I have read a lot in between but, far from all of it. I would probably have read a lot more and possibly more of them in order if libraries weren't so creepy. I have always enjoyed reading an occasional book but, it became a far more consistent thing when my kids started learning to read. Now I am usually reading one book and listening to another.

Jen Hi, I'm Jen and have been a big SK fan for a long while. Just finished The Outsider and loved it and am feeling that I need to go back and re-read a good few SK classics. My old copies are looking dated as well so it is a good excuse to buy new, updated editions ;-) Thinking of a mini binge of The Shining followed by Dr Sleep. Looking forward to chatting with other constant readers.

If you loved the Outsider you might consider reading (or rereading) The Mercedes Trilogy.

New to the group trying goodreads again for the first time in years. Before I got so caught up in my shelves I didnt do much in the way of groups and friends. Hoping to be a bit more sociable this time. 😊

Michele (spookybookshelfie) | 116 comments I can't remember when I read and what I read first (must have been either carrie or it) but I remember watching Pet cemetary movie in secret with my friends when I was 6 or 7 and I was so traumatized 😂. That movie was one of the reasons why I wanted to read King later on.
