Introduce Yourself- part 2

Monique, That is the beauty of Stephen Kings writing, he knows how to evoke feelings with just a few simple words.

Smaika, you wrote very well. I couldn't tell that English isn't your first language.

Hi and welcome Smaika, your English is just fine I just wish I could write and understand another language as well as you are doing with english

I'm new to Goodreads. I was given a Fire tablet for my birthday a few weeks ago & that's how I found out about this site. I love being able to keep track of what I've read, reading reviews for what I want to read, etc. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like. I don't have any friends yet.
Unfortunately I have a hard time concentrating to read. When I was a kid I read like crazy. But for some reason, the last 10 years or so, I'm not able to sit & read a book anymore. It sucks, I hate it, it's devastating to not be able to enjoy your favorite hobby. My eyes see the words, but my brain won't follow along. Or I just fall asleep, lol. 😴
So nowadays I just listen to books on tape, mostly in the car because I do a lot of driving & that's my only alone time. Or if I'm home, I ask Alexa to read to me from my Kindle books. It really helps take my mind off of life's problems. I hope at some point I'll be able to read again. Maybe I have adult ADD, idk. Honestly, I think it's just stress.😵
I look forward to getting to know some people and discussing good books together. 😀

My name is Jamie, and I recently joined Goodreads, so I'm new to blogging. I'm a Sociology major, almost completed my bachelor degree. I hate drama, and love my three furbabies, like they are my children. I love Stephen book, as I grew up on them and look forwards to talking to all of you.
Thank you,
Jamie Sweet "Little One".

Nice to meet you Mrbooks. I'm new to blogging, and grew up reading, Stephen King novels, especially the classic's, such as Pet Cemetary, Chrisitne and the one, I enjoyed the most was Needful Things.

Nice to meet you Mrbooks. ..."
Welcome Erin, and nice to meet you.

I’m Nathan, got into Stephen King about a year and a half ago after reading IT. Just fell in love with the emotive way of writing, the active prose and all the little pop culture references dotted around in his books. IT, 11/22/63 and Pet Semetary are my personal favourites.
Currently reading his On Writing memoir then it’s onto The Stand.
I’m a noobie by any respect, but it’s lovely to meet you all

Welcome to the group 😊 I also really liked It! But I think Salem's lot is my favourite so far... I am kind of new to his writing as well.

Hi Nathan and welcome it does not matter how new you are you are here and that is what counts, that and your love of Stephen Kings books.

I am fairly new to goodreads .. in fact this is the first thing I have ever commented on. I am only on my second book by stephen king but have seen plenty of his movies and love that he writes books without the typical "fairy tale happy endings". It feels more raw and truthful.

I have read Carrie and currently reading IT. Im really enjoying IT, its just a little long . I prefer nice quick reads. But IT has me so intrigued. Whats your favourite Stephen King book?

Ah yes Green Mile is on my to read list. I really want to read that one. thank you for the recommendations. I love the harry potter books and I've never read lord of the rings but love love love the movies. I haven't heard of the others I'll have to check them out for sure. thank you! Book nerd is the best kind of nerd so who cares.

I just joined Goodreads in late November 2017, I guess you can consider me a newbie but been in many buddy reads in my other groups I've joined. I'm always looking fro new books to read by reading peoples reviews or recommended to me. Some hit the mark some don't. It's usually the style of the writing by the authors that will catch my attention or not, but once I start reading it I'll finish it. I have yet to find a book I can't not finish, yet lol and wish to keep that streak going. :-) I'm also a Dean Koontz fan. Well catch you later bookies!

Joe Hill. Neil Gaiman. Robert Galbraith (AKA J.. K. Rowlings - The Cormoran Strike books).

Welcome Lauren, Joe Hill, the Heart Shaped Box, The Fireman, NO54A2, Horns. Try the Divergent series, it wasn't to bad.

Hi J.J. Welcome to goodreads and the Stephen King thread. Have you tried the Shannara series ? It is high fantasy along the lines of Tolkien, He also wrote the word and the void series as well as the Magic kingdom for sale sold.

I listed some books I've been reading lately on Other Books (non King) What are you reading? pt 2 thread.
The Stand is my favorite book from all the Kings books I've read plus it was my first book I've ever read written by Stephen King.
Thanks for the recs mrbooks! I look them up and see what catches my eye and put it on my to-read list.

If you're a fantasy reader I rec Stormlight Archives series and Mistborn trilogy both by Brandon Sanderson. He's a master world builder and his magic system is original compared to any other. In my opinion they're a must read now kind of books and guaranteed 4 to 5 star books. They won't let you down. The Name of the Wind series is another good one by Patrick Rothfuss.

"There is something immediately comforting about entering a home filled with books." Great comment. I know what you mean. I often get the e-book and the paperback, especially of a really long book, so that I can reference quotes I like and follow my progress. But definitely, have problems with the "smashing my nose" as I fall asleep with a big book and realizing that my Kindle weighs nothing and it's lit so I don't keep my wife away while reading late into the night.
