Introduce Yourself- part 2

Thanks mrbooks and Erin! I'm certainly looking forward to all the new adventures (so many books I haven't read) and to renewing some that I read years ago.

I’m Monique new to Stephen king books I have readed the shining and dr sleep and cujo and sleeping beauties and it and under the dome and the stand so far

As we are only just starting the Shining, you could try to play catch up by reading Carrie and Salem's Lot.

Wow, Mr. Books, you are steering her away from the horror stuff that she likes and toward more mystic and spiritual kinds of books. I would have recommended Duma Key and The Dead Zone, but hey, yours are good recommendations too.

Great. I love the audio of Christine, and Duma Key is really highly regarded by everyone.

I'm a big fan of Rose Madder. It will be interesting to see what you think. I read about 50 books on my iPhone before I finally got an IPad. No problem.

Right, I read all of king's books in paperback first so I have a complete collection, but for re-reads I'm going with e-books. Easier to sit there in the dark with just the light from the iPad.

Me too! I have an old Kindle right now. mrbooks, you're right, in a way. When I buy books, I buy physical books. Nothing can beat a bookshelf filled with favorite books. But, when I use the library, I borrow ebooks, and they are sent to the kindle. It's much easier. I search online, they are downloaded and returned electronically. So, the best of both worlds. :)

2 of my favorites."
Watch the movie version of The Mist, really underrated and has a brilliant if divisive ending.

I read Under the Dome recently a week or two back, it was pretty good, a throwback to King classics. I am sure you will enjoy it.

jOvian veiL is a multifaceted project that intertwines the creative writing of a Science Fiction Novella series with the raw emotion and energy of a Hard Rock Album. Each chapter has an associated track that expresses a certain emotion, mood or setting from the story. Drawing inspiration from a multitude of artists that span across a diverse range of projects (Stephen King’s ‘The Gunslinger’, ‘Fighting Fantasy’ Series of books, Nirvana, Tool, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age), jOvian veiL crafts their own unique story (and sound) while creating both the story and music in unison.
‘jOvian veiL – Menticide’ is the first book (and album) in a series where the reader can immerse themselves in not only the storytelling of the Science Fiction series but they can also experience the story from the author’s musical perspective.

When people join the group for the express purpose of beating their own drum they usually have the basic common sense and courtesy to offer an introduction before they start with the sales pitch.

I bought my first e-reader when I decided that it was too tiring to try to hold Under the Dome while reading in bed at night. I remember dropping it and smashing my nose then thinking "there has to be a better way!".
I lost my physical book collection in a fire in 2016 but upon purchasing a new Nook, there were all my favorites again. I have begun rebuilding my King collection along with a few other authors. There is something immediately comforting about entering a home filled with books. I will always enjoy seeing my favorites on my bookshelves but they are there to see, not read. I still collect certain authors but I duplicate their books by buying buying them in ebook form also. I love having literally thousands of books at my fingertips. Regardless of my mood, there is always something good to read.

I used to read Stephen King years ago as a teenager, and I really don't know why I stopped. I'm just starting again, so I've joined this group, but I have so much ground to make up!
