The Shining and Doctor Sleep will be awesome back to back. Welcome to the group.

He's such a great storyteller. I write short stories, and use On Writing as my motivational tool. I'm currently reading Finders Keepers, which I am enjoying immensely!
Off to see IT at the cinema tonight too, am very excited.
Nice to find a group of fellow enthusiasts!

Hi, Kathryn. I'm a big fan of Finders Keepers too.

I started reading King about ten years ago just based on the titles and descriptions. I think I messed up a little by being random, but I really enjoyed the ride. Not sure you have to read all the books in order. Though some people like that approach. But it is best if you read the Dark Tower Books in order and probably one after another. Personally, I don't think you have to read all the books that relate to the dark tower before you read the whole series. Though some people think so. Basically, just pick the books that appeal to you and enjoy them.

Welcome Patti. I think what Nick said is a good approach. Jumping around a bit gives a good overview of SK. For the Dark Tower, I'd read 'Salem's Lot first and then Black House probably after Wizard And Glass because they're directly related, but all the other connections will come in time. King's a very re-readable author, so you'll find yourself going back.

Hi Denice! I really like Under the Dome also and I'm very excited to read Sleeping Beauties! I often don't read books as soon as they come out. I get a lot just from the library. Hope you enjoy the group! :)

Denice, Under the dome was pretty good, I haven't read Sleeping Beauties yet so I won't and wouldn't comment on that as I don't want to spoil books for those who haven't read them. I agree with your assessment of the dark tower series, book 2 and 5 are my favorites though. Yes Wizards and glass is good but I liked The Wolves of Cala just that little bit better.

My name's Tony and I am from Colorado. I joined GoodReads earlier this year and just joined the Stephen King group today. I started off with the Dark Tower series last year and I have made it up through Wolves of Calla so far. After WoC, I just had to read Salem's Lot and just wrapped that up this past weekend. I can say I am obsessed and have a laundry list of King books to read. On my bookshelf waiting for me is The Talisman and Black House.

I found the original Barlow scary, it is the only thing that was even a little bit scary.

My name is Andrew and I am 24 years old. I just started reading again. Reading is a great way to learn things. I hope to gain some friends from this group amd I can not wait until I read Carrie with ya'll in December. If anyone wants to talk about books, just message me here. Thanks.
