Welcome! Many of your favorites are also my favorites. ;-)

It is great to be here :)

Welcome, Romilly and Enes. Glad to see that we share some less classic favorites like Duma Key and The Dead Zone.

I lost interest around the same time, too! I wonder why.

Welcome Nick it is always nice to have someone new to discuss books with.

I'm Anush from India. I was enamored by Needful Things, the story of how many little insignificant things lead to chaos beyond comprehension. I'm making my way through Under The Dome.
I love New England for it's beauty and the setting it can offer. I'm working on my own book (I don't expect any success or reward). I would be grateful if someone from New England would help me out with some of the technical details.
Enjoy and Keep on Reading !

As far as obtaining 'The Stand' on audio- I hope you do. It's completely worth it & you'll find yourself not minding a long drive (or traffic) so much. At least, that was my experience. I can't remember the narrator I had, just that it was a man. It's been a long time. I was listening on my iPod with the wheel - yes, the 1st iPod.

definitely going to chime in on The Stand discussions. I am almost finished with it now. This is my first time reading it, but Im sure the first of many times. This book is so good. I am just enthralled in it and cant put it down. I will be finished within the next day or two. I am currently reading the kindle uncut version. I have the audio book downloaded and listen when I am in the car. I look forward to trying to find the original cut version to read and compare.

Heather, look forward to seeing you in the Stand discussions! I have read the Uncut before, but for this time around I'm going to read try the original :)

My Name is Julia Felicitas, or in short: just "Feli", and I just entered this group and the goodreads-community.
I'm from Germany and still a student (majoring in linguistics right now, thus I don't have much time for reading at the moment.. but I'm trying :-) )
I love King and always did so. I started reading "The gunslinger" at age 12, omitting this whole young adult stuff and starting directly with the good stuff ;-)
Since then I am trying to read all his books, but I am still missing some..
I'm really happy to have found this site and especially this group, seems to me you folks are all great and really nice :-)

Welcome Feli, glad you are here.

My name is Valisa. I have been reading Stephen King since I was a teenager, which was quiet a while ago. My first Stephen King book was Carrie, but my favorite King novel is a toss-up between Pet Sematary and Duma Key. The last King book I read was It, and I am slowly reading The Dark Towers Series, reading The Waste Lands.
I was very fortunate to see King speak at last years national book festival in Washington D.C. :)

H, Valisa, welcome to the group! Carrie was my first King book as a teenager, too :) :)

hi Ellen :)

I've been reading Stephen King books for the past year and a half now; I started my senior year in high school after we had to read his book "On Writing" for my AP Language Arts class. I had heard of him before that but never had the chance to read his books. After having read that book, I was entranced and went to the library and picked up the first book I recognized: "Carrie." Within the next 6 months I read quite a few of his books, including "It" and "Under the Dome."
A year and a half later and I'm still loving it and making my way through his books. I read the Dark Tower series earlier this year and am currently reading "The Stand."
I'm excited to meet some people who love the King too, since I don't have any friends who like to read his books.

It's always nice when someone young experiences him for the first time and falls in love! Welcome.

Someone could also be a lone wolf who enjoys discovering new authors (indie or otherwise), like reading reviews & decides to get into some advanced reader group/club (also known as ARC)
Anyone is welcome to take a look at the group's I'm in...my 2 favorite groups are very active. Enjoy!!!!

If you like horror you might wanna check out one of my favorite (quite active) groups Horror Aficionados.
