Jarek "the Mistborn" Dąbrowski (jarekthemistborn) | 49 comments Hello everyone:) Jarek from Poland. My first SK novel was the green mile which I read when I was still in high school but I didn't get hooked on uncle Stevie until I read the first dark tower book the gunslinger several years later. I've been a huge fan ever since. I highly recommend the stand or the shining amongst other great ones:) feel free to add me as a friend;)

I'll take a look, but also go to ebook miner who writers usually promote their work.

Chris (monstertoaster) Hi everyone, I've become sick of Facebook and all it's crap. I've been noticing that social media makes people less social, so I've decided to spend more of my constructive energy on Goodreads by joining a group or two.

I'm a big reader (please feel free to check out my profile for my reads), and writer (for myself, not a successful one). Stephen King is my favorite author so it makes sense to see what other people's thoughts are about his work.

I believe my first King book was Cycle of the Werewolf, library back edition, full color and illustrated. It was many moons ago. Officially, The Tommyknockers turned me into a full blown 'Kinger'. That's it for me, cheers!

Vanessa (kreepygrrl) | 2 comments Hello fellow Stephen King fans! I have been an avid King reader since about the age of 14. I actually just secured the non-exclusive rights to his short story Rainy Season and have adapted it into a screenplay. I just launched a crowd funding campaign on indiegogo so we can shoot the film this Spring. Would it be ok to post the link in this group? I thought some Stephen King fans might want to get behind this project and help make it happen!

xGvJx | 5 comments Hi, I'm Sølvi from Norway (that's a girl's name), and Stephen King was the one to kick off my reading habit again after I moved away for high school and didn't touch many books for the first year. It was summer and I didn't care much for the sun, so I bought Dreamcatcher at a kiosk and sat under a tree in the shade, wearing all black, with my freshly dyed and recently cut short black hair, while my girlfriends were enjoying the sun in their tiny bikinis. Haha, what a cliche. Since then, I've read quite a few of his books, and I joined this group for inspiration to read the ones I'm missing - because these days I am reading a lot of different things, and King can easily drown in all the other stuff, there are so many books out there that are calling out for me!

Jo Francis | 6 comments Hello! My name is Jo, and I have just joined Goodreads and made this group my first point of call. Mr King's books have been my companions and best-loved method of escapism from the everyday for more than thirty years. I am looking forward to being able to meet and chat to fellow Constant Readers : ) I am just rereading the Dark Tower books, and am on the bittersweet last book.

message 1811: by Chris (new)

Chris (monstertoaster) Cheers Sølvi and Jo!

I too am reading through The Dark Tower. I'm currently on Wolves, and I'm loving the series.

Reanna (reannareads) | 12 comments Hi everyone! I'm Reanna and I'm a diehard King fan and recently just been getting into some of his stuff. I started a shelf devoted to him and slowly going to make it through as much of his stuff as I can get my hands on. I'm in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area if anyone near there wants to give me a hi. Please don't ask me for a favorite...I love them all. Lol!

Looking forward to meeting some new friends here!

message 1819: by Nina (new)

Nina (ninerninerniner) | 13 comments Hi everyone, I'm Nina. I read pretty much all kinds of books, but horror is my favourite genre.
My introduction to Stephen King happened kind of by accident. I picked up Firestarter when I was about 8 because I had seen a commercial for the movie and saw that the girl from ET was in it (also when I became a fan of Drew) - so it couldn't be *that bad* for kids, right? I've been hooked since.

Reanna (reannareads) | 12 comments Kerry wrote: "Welcome, Reanna. What have you read so far? Or what do you have left to read?"

Hi Kerry. I read a lot of his stuff in high school but that was awhile ago so I'm starting over again, rediscovering and really appreciating his work. So far I've read Joyland, A Dark Man, Duma Key, Doctor Sleep, 11/22/63, Just After Sunset, Bazaar of Bad Dreams, Mr. Mercedes, and Finders Keepers. I have The Cell and From a Buick 8 heading to me via the library soon. :)

C.M. (horrorjunkie) | 2 comments Hello fellow Constant Readers! My name is Chris. I am an exiled Welshman now living in London. I've been a King fan since I stole my sister's copy of Carrie in about '86. Now I feel old. My favourite books are 'Salems Lot, Pet Semetary, It, Duma Key, Bag of Bones and pretty much all the Bachman books. I am a freelance writer and editor. I also write fiction, unavoidably heavily influenced by the Master. I just signed with a literary agent. Pretty excited about that. Looking forward to virtually meeting you all!

John Wardlaw (j2so) Hi

I'm John, been a member of this group for a while but I haven't been very active on Goodreads but have a bit more free time now so just wanted to say hi. :)

Stephen King is my all time favorite author. After reading a few books by different writers I always feel like I've arrived home when I read a book by Uncle Stevie!

Out of the ones I have read from The King my favorite would have to be The Shining! I'm currently taking on the monster that is Under The Dome and I'm about half way through and loving it so far.

Look forward to hearing from you all!

Tracey (traceypb) Hello everyone.
I'm an avid reader of books, all genres. Although I've read 7 of his books I've not read Stephen King for many years. So yesterday I was in WH Smith's and The Gunslinger threw itself off the shelf into my basket... I bought it though I have a plethora of other books already ( You know how it is) Anyway I've decided to incorporate this series into my reading plan over the rest of this year and into 2017 and I was wondering if anyone here would like to join me?
I'm a disabled Mum living with MS I live with my 2 great teenage children and a 12 old German Shepard cross in a specifically adapted house in East Yorkshire UK.
Thank you for letting me join your group , I appreciate lots of you are avid SK fans.
My favourite books by him are Salem's lot and The Stand.

Welcome Tracey! I am actually working through a re-re-read of the DT series, but this time as an audio-book. I am four discs from the end of The Dark Tower. I have to warn you, it can consume your attention. I hope you find someone to read with you.

Nic Martin | 3 comments Hi everyone, I’m Nic, I live in England and I’ve been lucky enough to get some short horror stories published. I’ve been a big fan of SK since I was a kid, although I’ve actually only read a few of his novels all the way through. I always wanted to read more but because I know a lot of his books are kinda interconnected (especially the Dark Tower series) I wanted to read them all in order. I’ve finally got round to starting, I’m hoping the book of the month will sometimes overlap with my schedule so I can take part! I thought it might be fun to blog about each book as I go; if anyone would like to have a look they can find my Carrie post here: https://nicmartin.wordpress.com/2016/...

Really looking forward to being part of this community :)

Hey Nic, glad to have you here. Nice Carrie post too. Also liked the subheadings of the later parts of the piece and your comments there. Sounds like you read King's comments in On Writing. I thought his story about writing Carrie was pretty great.

Hey Nic. I checked out your Carrie review - looking forward to Salem's Lot but we have to wait til May 1st? :( There was a Rereading Stephen King segment on the Guardian where the guy was going through every SK book in order, but it hasn't been updated since last year.
