3.5 hours for a ticket!! Damn! And I thought I was a King fan!!

I don't know how new it is, but they can only sign so many and having tickets keeps 10,000 people from waiting when realistically only 1,000 will actually get signatures.

I think I should run now....
Hey Leah! Welcome to the dungeon... I mean um...uh... the club! ;)

Hey Rachel, welcome and thanks for making a point that not many of us have made, Another reason King is great is because his work isn't predictable. You never know how things are going to end and even when it's inevitable the path he takes to get there is nothing you would have ever expected.

Hello everyone, I'm Ian from England, and I've been reading Stephen KIng since I was about 15. My favourites are The Stand, Pet Semetary & 11/22/63.

Welcome Ian. Quite a diverse set of likes.

Hope you enjoy the group.

Every King book in order of publication! Do you realize how many books he's written? You have a serious task in front of you, but it should be a hell of a fun ride!

Its a great way to follow how his writing style developed.

I'm Dominic. I'm a big fan of Stephen King and he's my favourite author (just a smidgen ahead of Dean Koontz). I'm new to good reads (so I'm still exploring at the moment). I've read quit..."
Hey Dominic, good ideas; never thought of it that way, but it does make sense.

I was an avid King reader in the 70's 80's, but in the 90's kind of fell away, feeling his writing had changed when he became sober. It just didn't have that "punch".
As I'm making up for lost time, reading much of what I've missed out on since that time, I've noticed what you did. The characters can be more... altruistic...?...to a degree, since his accident.
I'm lamenting not keeping up all those years, but I'm having fun catching up
I'm also a Koontz fan, my favorite being Intensity. Many Koontz books tangle up in my mind because the formulas are so similar. But Intensity will always stand out.
Right now I'm re-reading Needful Things and enjoying the heck out of it!

As many of S.K.'s fans I first picked up one of his books in 5th grade and have been a huge fan ever since.
I must admit that even through all this time I still have not read ALL of his books (there are just so many others to read!), but do maintain a library of almost everything he has written. I actually find this to be a positive thing however, since I can still, for a short time left however, still go and pick out one of his books and read it for the first time.
Anywho, he is still by far my favorite author to read and I immensely enjoy listening to his interviews and panels. I love to talk and see what other S.K. fans think and say about his stories and glad I found this group.
So that is my intro! My copy of Revival just showed up in the mail and was waiting for me when I arrived home from work. I can't wait to dive in,
Raavyn

Why do I have a feeling that one of you are going to take me serious and have me removed from the site? No really, I do own guns.... ;)
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the new book. When you're finished, send it to me! Or else!! /ha!
Y'all have a wonderful day, now!
Hello everyone! So glad to find this group. Of course I love reading Stephen King anything, but I love reading ALL books! Excited to get into the discussions with the different books of the month!
WHAT??? Didn't even know about the suggested reading order!!!

So jealous of those who already started Revival, enjoy! I still need to get around to Mr.Mercedes which is on my nightstand right now :)

This is really interesting. Thanks for posting! I haven't read his books in any particular order but definitely have come across several Easter Eggs that allude mostly to The Shining and It. Can't wait for Revival tomorrow!

3.5 hours for a ticket!! Damn! And I thought I was a King fan!!"
haha! I have to wait in line for another 3 to 4 some odd hours tomorrow to get the book signed. That was just for the ticket! I grew up on The Shining, It, and Pet Semetary and loved all of the film adaptations before I started reading his books as a teen. But yes, I get a little over zealous and excited. At least my goodreads friends can understand. :)

Hi Tom! I'm not sure. I think just because he has such a large fan base it helped to diffuse the crowd. I've only been to one other book signing which was Chuck Palahniuk. This was several years ago and tickets weren't required. I've never stood in line for anything before for hours on end so I didn't really know what to expect. I don't think that's standard for every author though and it may also be contingent on the book store's policy and procedure?

Hey Lonnie, welcome. So what're your favorite King books, and why?

I liked insomnia too, and I don't know why either. A little Greek Mythology mixed in with long late nights, I guess. Check out the great debate we have going on the ending of The dark tower series. Lots of diverse opinions.
