Gary Martin (gmmartinbooks) | 93 comments I actually joined this group years ago, but I've been away for quite a while, so I'll reintroduce myself.
I am Gary Martin. I've read most of King's books, but not all of them. I have most of them in hardback. I have a first edition of "The Shining" and "Thinner" by Richard Bachman before it was revealed he was Stephen King.
I just started reading Fairy Tale. It is one of the few I hadn't read.

Martin | 2 comments Hi :) my name is Martin (33) I recently read my first Stephen king book ‘IT’ and can not wait to read more of his works. I’m a big fan of his film versions and planning on reading the shining next once I’ve finished my current book. Fairly active on here and will happily discuss books

rhysciar | 1 comments Hey guys! I'm Rhys (36), and I first read one of King's books at around age 10. He is my all time favorite author in the world, read a bunch of his books in hungarian (I live in Hungary), but lately I haven't picked anything up from him. At around 2019 I played with the idea to read all of his fiction books in chronological order, so I started with Carrie, but stopped there for a while. I picked up Salem's Lot this year, because I badly missed King's style, and right now I'm rolling with him. I've read The Shining and Rage this year, and currently I'm reading Night Shift. I hope to read all of his works in a few years, I hope there are some likeminded people here. :)

Walter | 2 comments Hi everyone!

I’m Walter from the Netherlands. I’ve loved Stephen King’s books ever since I couldn’t sleep one night years ago, picked up The Long Walk from my parents’ shelf, and ended up really not sleeping the rest of the night! I’ve been hooked ever since.

Right now I’m reading You Like It Darker. I’m enjoying it a lot—maybe not his best, in my opinion—but man, nobody tells a story like King does.

Looking forward to chatting with fellow Constant Readers. Have a good day!

Faith Younce | 1 comments Hi my name is Faith! I have been an avid (probably more than avid) Constant Reader for as long as I can remember. Cujo was my first Stephen King book and I fell in love from there. Some of my favorite by King are Insomnia, Duma Key, The Dark Tower, and The Institute.

message 5560: by Amy (new)

Amy Turner | 1 comments My name is Amy Turner. I am a fan of anything involving supernatural, paranormal, thrills, chills and twists. I enjoy stories that keep me guessing and King always delivers!

My first exposure to King would have been Pet Sematary movie I saw as a teen. Now, I've read so many of his books that I understand better the King Universe.

Kathrin | 1 comments Hello, I was a member of the group and found it interesting to read what others think about King's books. Then I retired from all groups for a while - now I'm back and look forward to the exchange. I am 38 years old, live in Germany and read King's books again and again since my teenage years. Next I am taking on Pet Sematary and I'm excited to see what the reading experience is like when you already know the end.

LTJ (ltj81) | 379 comments @Kathrin: Welcome back! Yeah, I know what you mean. Breaks are good now and then :-)

Enjoy Pet Semetary! It's an awesome novel :-D

Joanne (angelica79) | 13 comments Hi, I’m Joanne,
I joined about a year ago. I was always an avid reader. In my heyday it was one SK book after another.
I thought, let me start reading again. I really like the comments here, and happy to meet everyone.

Raven Young | 1 comments Hello, my name is Raven, I'm 36 years old. I'm from FL. I've been a fan of Stephen King since HS. The first book I've ever read was Needful Things then Carrie. Carrie was a very special book for me because I went through a lot of the same experiences as her, that's really where I fell in love with SK. I've read just about all of his books. Lately, I've been diving into his Holly Gibney series. I've always loved horror, before him, I read Bram Stoker, Poe, etc. I'm kind of an introvert, so I mostly lurk a lot.

message 5568: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (lmaems) | 3 comments Hey all. I'm Lauren, 33yo from Scotland. I remember my dad having Rose Madder on his bedside table as a kid, and I think that probably got me into reading SK. I'm a huge fan, I otherwise read a lot of fantasy/ scifi(red rising, first law series, gentlemen bastards etc).
I'm currently reading SK in order of publication and have just finished Needful Things. So far that's been one of my favourites along with Dark Tower.
Been here for years, a massive introvert and thought I'd finally say hello.

message 5569: by Devon (new)

Devon (cofnjoe) | 2 comments Shamefully just now reading my first King book, Salem's Lot. Planning to constant read him for at least 4-5 novels over the next year. Pet Sematary will be next, probably followed by Duma Key, maybe then The Shining, and finally some Dark Tower. After that, and some time spent in this group, I'll decide what's next.

I live in Wisconsin and I don't know any readers in my nearby world, so I'm finding them here!

Sheena | 3 comments Hey there! I’m Sheena (42), and I’ve been reading Stephen King since I was 14. Started with It. Just finished Lisey’s Story. 🪏

alex (semi-ia for theatre) | 1 comments Hello! I’m Alex, and I’m from the US. My pronouns are he/him (still figuring out if he/they works as well), and I’m in a big Stephen King phase right now! My dad is a big fan of Stephen King’s work (or as I like to call him in my reviews, Steve) and I wanted to read some of his books but I’m not a huge horror person, so I asked him to make a list of ones that he thinks would be okay for me to read (not too scary or anything). I’m currently reading If It Bleeds and Different Seasons right now!

Since I am in high school, I don’t always have the time to read, so I’ll probably be on and off for a while, starting in September. I plan on reading The Stand next summer! (I’m a little scared but I know I’m going to enjoy it!)

My name's Krlos, from Spain and I've been Constant Reader since the 90's when I discovered IT.

Nowadays I'm collector of his works and webmaster of the Kinglopedia (https://kinglopedia.com/).

Glad to be here.

Priscilla Fisher | 1 comments Hi, I’m Priscilla! I picked up my first Stephen King book just last year (The Stand) and I’ve been hooked ever since. I love horror, mystery, and dystopian stories, and since picking up The Stand last year, I’ve read about 10 of his books (though The Stand still remains my favorite.) I just finished 11/22/63 (literally yesterday!) and am currently reading Rose Madder. I’d love to connect with fellow King fans, so feel free to follow me!

message 5585: by John (new)

John Winter | 4 comments Hello, I've been a long time lurker and procrastinator. I got hooked on Stephen King well over forty years ago when at school. I've read most of his books -- and always keep an eye out for his releases.

I wouldn't be lying if I said that he inspired me to write my own horror stories, but I can't say that I had his dedication. My favourites of his, are The Dark Half, The Stand, Cell, and of course The Dark Tower series.

Over the years I've read all sorts, James Herbert, Clive Barker, Mark Z Danielewski, H.P. Lovecraft, Poe, Brian Lumley (Necroscope) and a load of other writers.

I was impressed by Joe Hill's Heart-Shaped Box and have a really cringeworthy story involving disambiguation at his book signing.

Hello! and thanks Angie and Chris, I see that I have 140 odd messages that I need to read to catch up with.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 612 comments Hello there, I'm Kit. Not actually a new member, been around for years and years, but took a very long hiatus for a big handful of years, because, well, life just gets in the way of things sometimes, and all that stuff. Recently got back into doing the GR thing, and now feeling ready to dip my toes back into the group and social side of it all.

So hey! Looking forward to maybe getting back into discussing the SK(and fam)U! Most recently, I've been working my way back through the DT series (5th-ish time round... I think?) on audio, but took a break between 4 & 5 to do a listen of The Stand (which was my 4th time through that, but first on audio). Also have recently read, in hard-copy, Never Flinch. Oh, and earlier this year I took my first trip through Tabby's Nodd's Ridge books... and totally fell in love! Damn, did I love those books so much. Also loved Owen's The Curator, though I technically read that at the end of last year, lol.

Just got done with The End of the World as We Know It, so I'm most looking forward to discussing that one! Can't wait to get chatting with y'all :)

Esther (legs) | 1 comments Hi, I’m Esther and live in Merriam, a suburb of Kansas City, KS
My first King book was Salem’s Lot about 50 years ago. I couldn’t put the book down and read till I found out why all these people were dying. I read until 2 am, not a good idea with this frightening book.
I have liked every King book I read, so I won’t list them. Instead here’s a point of interest—in the 1920’s my paternal grandfather was incarcerated and died in the prison featured in the Green Mile. I went to the prison around 2005, but it is not open to the public nor is it still a prison.
I am looking forward to sharing info and opinions with this group.
