Introduce Yourself- part 2

I do NOT really like my fellow Texans. At least not in these rural areas I seem to be stuck (thankfully so) in - family land. Yeah, it makes building a house much cheaper.
Anyway, I'm 46, married 20 years, 3 grown children that are in their 20s, 2 grandchildren (my muses)... a dog Mom/Grandma of 4.
I have loved S. King since... 1992. Maybe 1990?
I've read as much as I can though an unexpected stroke slowed me down at 43. It sucks. Yeah, it could be worse but people who say that make me want to punch them in the trachea.
The one thing King is famous for, I have been unable (3 tries now) to get into is The Dark Tower series. That first book... I've read 1/2 of it and it still didn't hook me. Someone needs to tell me I'm crazy or... (see the comment about tracheas). I look forward to meeting some like-minded folks and pls don't hold the Texas thing against me.
Oh, I am also an aspiring memoirist, I can be read at: https://blog.reedsy.com/creative-writ... ... No pressure but ya know, it'd be a lot cooler if you did.
Nice to meet you all! :))

My journey is inspired by my late grandma. Not only did she introduce me to him, I inherited her collection (lists of first editions)! So far, my top three are The Eyes of the Dragon, Drawing of Three, and Waste Lands. My next read is Wizard and Glass.
My favorite non-Dark Tower SK book (and movie) is Carrie!

That first dark tower book is hard to get through for a lot of people, I've heard. If you can somehow get through it, the rest of the series gets more amazing with each book! Also, you just gotta keep livin' man....

Im Mary from Northern Ireland and would like more friends on here. I‘m active daily on here. I like to read most genres of books 💟📚 feel free to add me.

I have loved Mr. Kings work since I was a teenager! The cool thing about all of you is your takes on all things King. It’s amazing to me that varied and interesting takes people can have on the same books.
I can’t wait to read your view points feel free to add me as a friend!

I would appreciate if any of you could help me find his best book, the must-read. Thanks in advance.

My favorite quotes : "There will be water if God wills!"
"Thanks God for small favors"
Feel free to add me as a friend and Ill say THank-ye Sai

Enjoy the Green Mile, it's such a SK classic!

Enjoy the Green Mile, it's such a SK classic!"
Thank you so much for the welcome!! Sangria and Paella are quite good indeed :D
So far, I love The Green Mile! Afterwards, I think I will read Cujo!

I read The Shinning and carrie again., loved them. I got so much on my tbr that if I went through all my SK books I’ll never get through all the other books I have 😂

Excellent pick to go right into Cujo, it's awesome. Enjoy, and happy reading :-)

I got on SK late. But first book recommended was Misery and I absolutely loved it. Then read his Memoir on Writing to dive more into him but can't wait to dive into more! Excited for this group!

My name is Faycat. I started reading Stephen King's novels when I was about 12, in the end of the 80s. They were all in German, as I grew up in Germany. This year is my first official SK obsession year, where I try to watch as many of his movies and read as many of his books as possible. Right now, I'm ten hours into the It audiobook and enjoying every minute and detail!
Happy to have found this group and looking forward to fun and insightful discussions!

My name is Yves from Paris and I am a very big Stephen King fan since the 80´s
.
I particularly like the Dark Tower cycle and I'm glad to be able to exchange ideas with other fans here.

My favourite books by him are "The Institute", "Pet Sematary" and "Misery".
I found "The Institute" beautiful and both "Pet Sematary" and "Misery" terrifying!

I'm for sure going to check that out too! Have you read every SK book??

One day :-)

I downloaded this app last year and have made it my goal to read SK’s catalog in its entirety 😂😂 I’m looking forward to this journey and can’t wait to read everyone’s reviews and get different opinions as I complete each of his works.
Very nice to meet all of you!
