Laura | 1 comments Hello, I'm Laura from the UK. I've had a Goodreads account for a while but have never actively used it. I hope that changes because I want to keep track of the books I read and make myself read more! The only Stephen King novel I have read is The Green Mile but I would really love to get the ball rolling and read many more of his work. I'm looking forward to the challenge!

message 5457: by Christian (new)

Christian Boggs | 1 comments Howdy, folks!

I'm Christian, and Stephen King was the single greatest influence on my decision to write my own book. As a habitually convalescing teenager, I spent my summers camped out in my bed, reading The Stand, It, Desperation (and The Regulators), and The Dark Tower series, among many others.

Like a fool, I fell out of the habit of reading right around the same time I decided I was good enough to start writing my own novels, and I aim to fix that now. I figure there's no better way to dive back in than to go back to my inspiration, so here I am if you'll have me.

Sahale Cundiff | 2 comments My name is Sahale. I’m from Kentucky. I’m 26, married, 2 kiddos. No my name is not spelled how it sounds. Lol. Growing up my mom was always watching Stephen King movies and started getting the books, when I was 18 and just became a mom my son was born early and while I stayed with him in the hospital for 105 days, I started reading more and more of King. I am recently within the last year getting his books to collect.

Jasmine L | 1 comments Hello, my name is Jasmine! I started reading King in middle school, starting with The Green Mile which quickly became my favorite book. I've read a lot of King's work and look forward to reading more and talking with others about it!

message 5464: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Rakos | 3 comments Hello! I’m new to this group! I started reading SK way way back. The first book I read by him was Salem’s Lot when I was around 13 ( so 1977 or so). It scared me so bad. Since then, I believe I’ve read everything he has ever written (including all the Bachman books)! My top favorite is The Stand. I devour every new book like a Reese’s Peanut butter cup. Way too fast to taste the whole thing! Often, re-reading right away to catch any nuances I may have missed.

message 5465: by Steven (new)

Steven Scott | 4 comments Hello everyone! My name is Steven. I was an avid Stephen King reader back when I was in middle school and high school. I fell out of the habit of reading shortly after, but recently found my enjoyment for it again. I recently dived into The Dark Tower series with The Gunslinger and am currently on book two: The Drawing of the Three. I have always found Stephen King's writing to be extremely entertaining and these few books have been no exception. I am excited to discover some newer works by King and revisit some of his older books!

Brandon James | 1 comments Hi all! I'm Brandon from Dallas, TX and I got into reading as a hobby in 2023. Since then reading has been my main hobby with many books in the sci-fi and fantasy genres. Also, I have read quite a lot of Mr. King's work (which is why I joined this group). These include:

Pet Sematary
The Dark Tower
The Stand
Salem’s Lot
The Shining
11/22/63

I've enjoyed all these, but my favorites are The Stand and 11/22/63. Looking forward to another great year of reading!

Jacob | 4 comments Hi!

Just started this account, so I’m getting accustomed to the flow of everything.

I’ve been a King fan for as long as I can remember. I remember my favorite movie as a child was the 90s miniseries of IT. By now, I’ve already watched all of the movies. Now I’m on a journey to final read the books as well!

Juan E. | 4 comments Hello, all

My name is Juan and I reside in southeast Florida. I found this discussion group here on GoodReads since I have begun my reading for 2025. The first book that I have to “devour”, if I can say it that way, is Stephen King’s IT. Has anyone devoured IT? Let me know. Also, since I love reading and writing, I have begun a new up and coming book blog. The name of my blog is called JESLiterati for anyone interested. Thank you.

Jakob Shingler | 36 comments Hi everyone! My name is Jakob and just created my Goodreads account a few days ago. Still figuring out everything on the app but I’m liking it so far and when I saw this group I had to join. I’ve been a Stephen King fan for years now, even went on a brief binge of reading his books in publishing order from Carrie up until Cujo when I stopped. But goes to say I’m a huge fan and my favorite book is IT

message 5494: by Rick (new)

Rick Tabor | 4 comments Hello fellow Stephen King readers!
I have been a fan of Mr. King for decades (perhaps my first King book was Carrie, which ironically was his first hit book). I am married with 3 kids at home and 2 adult kids and live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago - Crystal Lake.
I just published my first novel - CHILDREN OF THE SCROLL, available from Long Overdue Books, Amazon and Kindle. It's a horror/fantasy/thriller that is getting great ratings - but it's still admittedly early in the game. Fingers crossed!
Best wishes,
Rick

message 5497: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Maruzzo | 1 comments Hi everyone! I’m Ashley Maruzzo, and I’m excited to be part of this group!

I’ve always been drawn to dark, atmospheric stories that blend mystery, folklore, and the supernatural—the kind of books that give you chills long after you’ve turned the last page. Gothic horror, eerie suspense, and supernatural thrillers are my favorites!

Some of my favorite reads include Mexican Gothic, The Haunting of Hill House, and Rebecca—I love the feeling of unraveling a mystery wrapped in something truly haunting.

I also write in this genre and just finished my Threads of the Forgotten Soul series, which dives into family curses, haunted objects, and dark secrets that refuse to stay buried. I’d love to connect with others who enjoy these kinds of stories!

What are some of your favorite books with a truly haunting atmosphere? I’m always looking for recommendations!

message 5498: by Ali (new)

Ali Deters | 1 comments Hi everyone. Excited to join. I just started a 2025 Stephen King marathon, and thought this group might help keep me inspired and advise me! I started actively using Goodreads a little over a year ago, and love it! I tend to leave reviews on most of my books, mostly to fully process what I’ve just read, and partially to be able to look back at my journey. Truly enjoy the platform and love reading reviews. Looking forward to meeting new people! ♥️

message 5499: by Cesar (new)

Cesar Lopez | 1 comments Hello All,

My name is Cesar.

I have been on this platform for a very short time and the truth is that I am really enjoying it. I have only read two books by King "Pet Sematary" and "Holly" and I loved the stories. I hope that by joining this group, I will get many recommendations for books by this author and also new connections.

Nice to meet you all! :)
