I'm Christian, and Stephen King was the single greatest influence on my decision to write my own book. As a habitually convalescing teenager, I spent my summers camped out in my bed, reading The Stand, It, Desperation (and The Regulators), and The Dark Tower series, among many others.
Like a fool, I fell out of the habit of reading right around the same time I decided I was good enough to start writing my own novels, and I aim to fix that now. I figure there's no better way to dive back in than to go back to my inspiration, so here I am if you'll have me.

I'm Mary from northern ireland uk, and I'm looking for book friends 💗 Feel free to add me. I like to read most genres and I'm active daily on Goodreads.

The Stand
Salem’s Lot
The Shining

I've enjoyed all these, but my favorites are The Stand and 11/22/63. Looking forward to another great year of reading!

Just started this account, so I’m getting accustomed to the flow of everything.
I’ve been a King fan for as long as I can remember. I remember my favorite movie as a child was the 90s miniseries of IT. By now, I’ve already watched all of the movies. Now I’m on a journey to final read the books as well!

My name is Juan and I reside in southeast Florida. I found this discussion group here on GoodReads since I have begun my reading for 2025. The first book that I have to “devour”, if I can say it that way, is Stephen King’s IT. Has anyone devoured IT? Let me know. Also, since I love reading and writing, I have begun a new up and coming book blog. The name of my blog is called JESLiterati for anyone interested. Thank you.

Welcome, Andrew, those are some great authors you've listed.

I have been a fan of Mr. King for decades (perhaps my first King book was Carrie, which ironically was his first hit book). I am married with 3 kids at home and 2 adult kids and live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago - Crystal Lake.
I just published my first novel - CHILDREN OF THE SCROLL, available from Long Overdue Books, Amazon and Kindle. It's a horror/fantasy/thriller that is getting great ratings - but it's still admittedly early in the game. Fingers crossed!
Best wishes,
Rick

I’ve always been drawn to dark, atmospheric stories that blend mystery, folklore, and the supernatural—the kind of books that give you chills long after you’ve turned the last page. Gothic horror, eerie suspense, and supernatural thrillers are my favorites!
Some of my favorite reads include Mexican Gothic, The Haunting of Hill House, and Rebecca—I love the feeling of unraveling a mystery wrapped in something truly haunting.
I also write in this genre and just finished my Threads of the Forgotten Soul series, which dives into family curses, haunted objects, and dark secrets that refuse to stay buried. I’d love to connect with others who enjoy these kinds of stories!
What are some of your favorite books with a truly haunting atmosphere? I’m always looking for recommendations!

My name is Cesar.
I have been on this platform for a very short time and the truth is that I am really enjoying it. I have only read two books by King "Pet Sematary" and "Holly" and I loved the stories. I hope that by joining this group, I will get many recommendations for books by this author and also new connections.
Nice to meet you all! :)
