Introduce Yourself- part 2

Currently a student and love reading and writing in my spare time. The first King book I read was the Shawshank Redemption, followed by The Body. I have since read Billy Summers, the Bill Hodges trilogy, Full Dark No Stars, the Mist and of course You Like It Darker, among others. I intend to read as many SK books I can and hopefully grow my collection of his books on my bookshelf!
I’m here to make friends and connect with like minded people. Feel free to say hi and add me on Goodreads, I’ll happily add back!
Thanks all :)

Hello Josh. Welcome.

Hi, Josh, always room for more King fans.
Hi, I'm Merv from South Wales UK. I'm 63 & have been a Constant
Reader right from the beginning with Carrie in '74 right through to You Like It Darker in '24, a nice, round 50 years. I have a sizeable collection of SKs fiction consisting of 80 books which I believe is everything that has been published in the UK, the majority of which are in hardback. I have also read the two non-fiction books but no longer own them.
I also have a couple of extras, one being a Special Edition paperback of IT with an extra page at the beginning that includes a message from SK & his printed autograph. The other is a pop-up book version of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I found it in a charity shop for only £3. If you'd like to see pictures of these, head over to the Photos section of this group. Whilst there, take a look at my SK-related t-shirts. Thanks for reading.

Welcome Vicky. That's a bit spooky, I'm new on here too & I also started reading SK at the same age as you, Carrie being my first in '74. There's plenty to delve into on here, so have fun.

Pennsylvania, USA. Ive read every King Novel, except Storm of the Century which Ive recently purchased and have it in my bookcase ready to read. Ive done most of his books on audiobook, and am now going back through reading the physical books. Which feels like reading a new book, and I get to sort of read his novels for the first time…again. Which is awesome. Excited to be among other Horror lovers 🤘

That's so damn cool you're getting your whole leg covered by a Dark Tower-inspired tattoo! I'd love to see what when it's done, please and thank you :-)

PS. The only books I have ever read and absorbed as quickly as Stephen King is the Preston & Child series about Agent Pendergrast. If you haven't read them, I highly recommend!!

Thank you!
Hi Amanda, welcome to the group. I realise it was a typo, but " Shinning " in your post made me chuckle because that's what Bart had to call it instead of " The Shining " to avoid being sued in the Simpsons episode Treehouse of Horror V.

You came to a wonderful group, and I look forward to future King discussions! Have you read "You Like It Darker" yet?

I'm a newer fan of Stephen King. My first book by him was Fairy Tale and I really liked it. Now I am trying to read them in publication order! Next up is The Stand.

ZOMG I LOVED THE STAND! LoL keep in mind, it's a tome, but well worth the read. Enjoy!

A SEQUEL TO CUJO!!! That alone is worth reading this new novel. It's called "Rattlesnakes" :-)

Excited to read that sequel! I really liked the book Cujo

I'm Nicole from The Netherlands. I started reading Stephen King books when I was a teenager, starting with Tommyknockers (not a very popular one haha).
I've been a Constant Reader for a couple of years now, and have a goal to read all (fiction) books Stephen King ever wrote. So far I have read 62 of his books, so roughly 19 still to go.
Last week I finished You Like It Darker (loved it!) and currently reading Skeleton Crew.
Excited about this group!

I loved You Like It Darker!!! What did you give it from 1-5 stars?

I loved it too, definitely 5 stars. I couldn't put Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream down. Great story and secretly hoping for a movie about it.
What's your favourite King novel?
