I haven't read the previous two books, but I'm curious what exactly is wrong with Todd?

A diagnosis is never identified in the first two books; as a reader, you kind of piece together that Todd has a learning disability and assume it is a mental disorder.

I am wondering how you were able to write so well about the challenges of parents of letting go of a mentally disabled child and letting them move out into the the big mean world my son is 30 and still lives at home, and some of the thoughts of the McCrays are so spot on. So I guess what I was wondering is if you have a disabled child or know people that do because some of things said by Todd's parents I could have easily said.

Good questions! I have children with disabilities--in some cases more severe than Todd's and in some cases less severe. Also, in my legal career I have represented children with disabilities. The important thing I wanted to convey about Todd was not the exact nature of his "mental limitations," but the extent to which his kind, caring and compassionate personality more than makes up for those limitations. Glad you liked the book! My wife and I have two dogs and two cats. Three of four are rescues. My running budy, Rudy, looks kind of like a big yellow "Benji" dog, but we did some genetic testing on him and he is part wire haired pointing griffon! Not a breed I was familiar with, but he's great.

I enjoyed the books because they touched on many subjects such as our relationship with family and pets, disabilities, farm life, the importance of philanthropy and our human spirit. Just wanted to pop in and say that A Dog Named Christmas is on the Hallmark Channel Sunday Dec.16 at 9pm Central time.

wish could watch it but good old AT&T Uverse.does not carry the Hallmark channel.

Was very impressed how well done the movie was! Great casting especially Christmas! Although I did want George to sound like Mark Bramhall :)..Listening to to A Christmas With Tucker right now and loving it!

The only problem is it changed George's backstory so would change Christmas with Tucker if they ever made a movie out of it.
