Dub vs. Sub

Which do you like better Dub or Sub? Me personally I like Dub because then I don't have to read the to understand what they are saying.

since i cant understand japanese yet, I would love to have it sub, heheheh actually even if it's english i still prefer it with subtitles, that way i can understand those super slang words!
i can also learn the english translation of a japanese words if there's subs... heheh

That is true....
i feel as if the japanese seiyuu totally get into the characters in way that dub voice actors dont. also i've kinda become addicted to japanese voices! i absolutely adore them!and yeah i want to learn japanese so i try once in a while to test myself by watching it RAW just for the fun of it!
To me I don't get how they "get into it differently" I like listening to dub though because I am not the fastest reader and then sometimes I have to stop the video to reread the subtitles because I didn't finish reading or I didn't understand.

I had a hard time reading it, because of the absence of punctuation marks, but after a few tries, I finally understood. And agreed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like both though, but prefer English.
I like Dub when I'm watching anime before I go to bed when I'm really tired so all I have to do is really listen (though I miss out on visuals and visuals are usually my favorite parts of animes/mangas).I like sub a lot too because I've been trying to learn Japanese and it can help a lot. Plus sub is more updated/ has more variety.
i prefer subs but there are some series i enjoyed watching dubed

subbed all the way, when its dubbed usually it loses alot of content like dubbed one piece lost alot of violence xD. plus subbed allows you to learn japanese (which im currently also trying to do with audiobooks lol)

rosetta stone like pimsleur are expensive though :-(. I got pimsleur Japanese of a mate
I like them both because subed is the first time you can see it as an amine,but it sticks more dubed.
Me, everything I watch in Subbed, I will eventually watch it in Dubbed, as well. And Vice Versa, also !!!!!!!!!!!!!

ermm its pretty much audiobook kinda lessons to learn phrases and stuff using the pimsleur method lol, they last likr 20ish mins and your well learning words but not in the constant repeat it x1bazillion way. rosetta stone has interactive learning discs right? I would be interested in that but I only want to speak and listen to different languages not read and write too lol

Well, then, BACK TO THE Dub vs. Sub thing, I thought that when listening to it, you still had to be fluent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Normally, I watch with subtitles but sometimes I'll watch the dubs if it has voice actors I like in it or if I like that version better.For intense, in Hetalia I prefer listening to the dub version because there are a lot of voice actors I like in it and they do accents.
Though in Black Butler they have some voice actors I like, but some voices could of been better, like the voice of the Undertaker (way to high of a voice!) or even Finny (little too low).
So usually subs unless the voice acting is really good in the dubs!

It's always subbed for me, with the exception of Ouran High School Host Club, Hetalia, Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood and Soul Eater. The first two because the jokes fire off quickly and if you're reading it won't come across as well. Soul Eater and FMA because they were my first anime and I can't think of them any other way ^^
But to be honest guys, you cannot, in no way learn Japanese purely by watching anime. It can help (and I'm hoping people are using it to help their learning because it's fun), but there are so many dialects in Japan and ways of speaking that just aren't put into the shows - the way characters speak in an anime could be very different to how you would hold a conversation with a Japanese person. If you really want to learn Japanese the best thing to do is to sign up for a class like I do - a lot will be able to teach you about the culture, how to address people and it's also helpful for writing as well :)

Subbed, unless its Dragonball. I can't stand Goku's high pitched voice lol.
Subbed!Because I like hearing them talk in Japanese (how they sound like), plus, their expressions (Japanese) come out more natural when compared to English dubs; don't you think ^_^ ?
Really I like Dubbed because I hate reading subtitles and I just wan to understand what they are saying.
I usually watch sub, but most of the time, without the volume one...I only watch dub if there are no sub available. Plus, some of the dubs are really bad.

For me, I suppose it depends on the anime. Like for example, InuYasha. I like both sub and dub version, but I'm more used to the dub because that is the version I watched first. Well, after the Spanish dubbed. Another example is One Piece. I'd prefer the sub version better because the Japanese voices are closer to what I thought the voices would sound like when I read the manga. So I guess it depends on the anime but for me, I'd go closer to the sub version.
I prefer watching anime in Eng-sub or raw, because a lot of the original Japanese dialogue have been censored or removed from the English dialogue. (Well, I understand Japanese so Eng-sub and raw isn't a problem for me.)But before I was fluent in Japanese, I didn't like watching anime in Eng-sub and raw. I would read the Eng-sub or try to understand the conversations in Japanese, so I didn't pay much attention to the actual show.
As for Eng-dub, there are few anime shows that have outstanding Eng-dub. (By outstanding, I mean that the English translation is close to the original Japanese dialogue, and the English voice cast did an amazing job with defining each character).

Marie Chantal: True, plus there are some Japanese statements that could not be translated exactly into its English counterpart. Some things that are just found within Japanese culture.
I honestly prefer subs because I ususlly like the way that Japanese voice actors talk more, I just felt they put more passion into it everytime I heard them and then the foreign ones (to me it sound more natural like this). So I prefer their voices and subs to understand what they say. xD
Subs because then its easier to learn Japanese.
I totally agree with Ana! Japanese voice actors are awesome at evoking a ton of different emotions through their voice. I wonder if there are Japanese voice actors that also voice as characters in the English-Dub... Or if there are American voice actors that also voice as characters in the Japanese-Dub! :D
Sub. I'm learning Japanese at the moment so it helps me. Also, (although I haven't watched that much anime-I should), a lot of the dub actors were really weird.

I was walking my brother's friend home. His sister-in-law lived in Japan for 3 months, majored in and speaks Japanese, and loves anime. So she asked me "Subs or dubs?" I'm like "Uh, dubs. They're easier." Her husband was like, "The cool people are watching subs. And the cool people are watching Bleach, not Death Note. You're crazy." Though I think he was a little weird at the time.
When KH3D came out in Japan, I couldn't understand the cutscenes. Someone made subs and I learned many Japanese words. I also love listening to the language. HOWEVER, I can follow the story better when listening to my own language.
