It's like it's just hit me recently that this is coming out. Feels like such a long time since the epicness of Lord of the Rings and yet that magic hasn't really faded. I'm still amazed at that trilogy and I can't believe we're going to be deliver yet another 3 epic films.

That's the link to Rolling Stone's stream of the official movie soundtrack. It gets released on the 11th. Guess what I will be buying and playing constantly in my car?

2 days! AND WE GET TO SEE IT ON OPENING NIGHT FINALLY THANK GOD FOR MORE SHOWS OPENING IT'S GONNA BE SO GOOD OMG.

Movie verdict: so fucking good. Need to see again. Bromance hug was even better when in proper context.

Random things about this movie:

1. Seeing Frodo. Elijah Wood doesn't age. He must be part Asian.
2. Thranduil showed up with a an army, looked around at the chaos, and was like 'nah.' He was also riding a moose.
3. If you are good looking and have a bow, you are the most useful. Re: Legolas and Kili.
4. Was it ever mentioned that Fili and Kili are Thorin's nephews? I can't remember and now I'm wondering if people in the theatre were thinking that Thorin is biased because whenever there was danger, Thorin kept screaming "FILI! KILI!" Especially during the stone giant scene when he thinks Fili is dead. He screamed, "NO! FILI!" but didn't freak out over anyone else.
5. Let's take a moment to squeal over how adorable Ori was. When he threw his sling shot on the ground, I died.
6. The troll scene was great! When he thought the sneezed a Biblo = lols.
7. When the ring slips onto Biblo's finger, I had the biggest goosebumps. Peter Jackson did a great job of tying in things from The Lord of the Rings. Just, GREAT.
8. Thorin is so badass. Look at his hair. Listen to his voice. Fuuuuuuu.
9. I like how they played up Biblo's courage and wit. When we get to Mirkwood, shit is going to be awesome.
10. Tumblr has come to the following conclusion: Galadriel is Batman.
11. Seriously, though, what the fuck is up with Elves and leaving/not helping at the most inconvenient times?
12. Elves, when put in the company of dwarves, are suddenly comic relief. They were so cheesy and fluffy in Rivendell, I loved it.

May told me her new obsession was Ori. She told me he sling shot himself off the screen and into her heart.

I don't know how they're going to get two more movies out of this book. I bet I could have read it cover to cover during the running time of that.

I'm not complaining though. Gimli was the best part of LotR. This is like a whole pack of him.

I just finished the book, and since I don't want to leave Middle-earth just yet, here are the things I can't wait for in the next two movies (spoilers alert, but if you're here you've probably read the book anyway):

-Smaug being smug, vain, and overall fabulous
-OMG DWARVES IN BARRELS
-Bard vs. Smaug (but boosted up like 100X because honestly, his death was anticlimactic)
-Battle of Five Armies of course (this entire thing can probably be dragged out to a full hour. Can Thranduil fight on his moose please?)
-the inevitable 50+ endings that will make me tear up but also slightly impatient because my bladder is most likely very full by that point

Jackson being Jackson with his epic fantasy war scenes, I expect a good deal of fire and screaming and Smaug basically fucking everyone's shit up.
