Not to worry, guys - it's just a game and one that I came up with overnight (sort of) :)

I made up the rules cuz if I don't - you'd be asking me all sorts of questions LOL

you're not going to be disqualified for disregarding it either (this time! *wicked laugh*) ;)

Maybe task 15.4?

message 57: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments i'm using it for a 20 pointer - Carly's Screen Sisters - for the strong female character - i think they work ;)

apparently Edelweiss likes me, because I have been approved for almost everything i have requested - which means, I need to buckle down and read

OK, Dee & Tien, you need to fill the rest of us in on Edelweiss.

message 59: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments Edelweiss is like NetGalley where you can be approved for review copies of books - if you have a blog etc - they seem to have a much wider range of publishers that NG, and less picky about who is approved

Wow! I didn't know there were places you could actually ask for review copies of books. Neat!

message 61: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments yep - for most of them you have to demonstrate some way of showing how you do reviews - either via goodreads profile; amazon profile; blog etc

I only get digital review copies of Netgalley & Edelweiss - how bout you, Dee?

Thing is, I'm in Australia - there are a lot (A LOT) Less ARC available but from the sound of it, there are absolutely stacks in the US.

Dee (austhokie) | 2695 comments Net galley, edelweiss and a few publishers/literary agencies have contacted me - if authors offer arc I also put my name In if I like them

Sorry, Tien, but I have broken the rules already. Most of my books are library books and so the date I receive them and the date due is determining what gets read when.

I did start and am still reading the first book but the other six are all from the library and I have finished some of the last few first. However, I will not move on from this leg of the journey until I have completed all 7, which will keep me in the spirit of the game. (I am already sure that I will not be a top finisher, since I have been too long on book 1.)

I love how honest you are, Bea :)

It doesn't matter - this is a real fun game for me and by the way, the winner won't be who finished first but who finished fastest ;) BUT all who defeated Nellie Bly's time WINS!! LOL granted, we're doing it from the comfort of our own home but it's still fun!

Um...?

There might be a misunderstanding here... Dee was commenting on the the total number of books I've listed at the bottom of my second stage and I said that I've only read the 6th book (the last book of my first stage) which allows me to plan the second stage which at the time I've not started reading any of, yet. But the total number of books include both from stages 1 & 2.

Does that make more sense now?

This allowed me to plan the second stage. The total number of books included both from stages 1 & 2. I read all my books in order they rolled.

Well, yeah, I was totally confused. I can't even find now what I was looking when I wrote that. It must've been someone else's Stage 2, because it had a lot of books finished in December. And since I was thinking that was yours that you'd just planned, it really confused me.

Ebony Taylor | 95 comments Hmm, I have a question, Tien. For my lose throw reads, I'm planning on reading the Chrestomanci Chronicles, which is cheaper and easier to get in volume form. So each book was originally published seperately, and has now been turned into two-book volumes. Would it be reasonable for me to still count each book as a book on its own? So if i read volume 1 (charmed life/lives of christopher chant) would that count as 2 seperate books?

(im actually planning on reading half of volume 1 and half of volume 2, as ive already read charmed life, but the question is still relevant, so I would be able to use the other half of volume 2 for another task/challenge?)
