Sounds like...can you elaborate?

I'd say yes. Reyes is definitely a bad boy ;)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 506 comments How much of the setting needs to be in the desert? If the book was set in New York but some of the flash backs were of Iraq, is that enough or does it need to be set entirely in the desert?

message 1008: by Midu (new)

Midu Hadi | 1693 comments she did lol

Midu Hadi | 1693 comments this is the book,LK She Never Knew by C.J. Simpson

message 1010: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'd say, "yes" to the stranger being a "bad boy" in that one, Midu.

What percent are we talking here, Dawn?

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) | 506 comments Lisa Kay wrote: "What percent are we talking here, Dawn? ..."

I know there are a few but probably not a lot, but it is a key element to the story. I'll have to read to know for sure. I'll ask again if I end up using that book.

message 1014: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Okay, Dawn. I know CaroB questioned that in past weeks. However, what with the flashbacks, she might allow it.

message 1015: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Would a main character (a blond female) getting lost and sick in the Nevada desert count for plot?

message 1016: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Dawn, I'm going to say, "yes" to the flashbacks based on:
Plot: Book with recurring flashbacks in the narration...

Hmmm... I'm going to let CaroB decide on that one, Mary. I want to say, "yes"...but then, I'm easy. Unless her getting lost is related to a relationship? Somehow?

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments Mary wrote: "Would a main character (a blond female) getting lost and sick in the Nevada desert count for plot?"

I'm going to say no to that. Getting lost and sick isn't the same as loosing yourself while your in a relationship :)

Yeah, I got plot covered. I was hoping to get setting too. The progloge and chapter 1 delt with Iraq, but then the main couple have become more interested in being porn stars than thinking of the past. The prologe is entirely set in Iraq, chapter 1 was remembering what happened in Iraq. I doubt that is enough. I'll see if they can get thier clothes back on long enough to remember more of Iraq. (Not sure if I've ever read a book where I wanted the characters to stop having sex)lol

message 1024: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Dawn, yes, that counts for plot and setting.

message 1025: by ShoSho , Moderator (new)

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments For the plot , what if the heroine is the one in trouble with the police? Playing With Fire by Taylor Lee

message 1026: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Mary, I like how you're thinking outside the square, but I'm going to say no to that for plot points, but it definitely would count for setting.

message 1027: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments ShoSho, that was just one example of what would constitute a "bad boy" but unfortunately, it's still the bad BOY we're after.

message 1028: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 752 comments Since it's an old bodice rippers, I have a feeling it might fit the "girl loses self in relationship" plot line anyway.

LBMO! Really. Doesn't the author know you're in a competition?

P.S. Yay! It counts.

Ah! So then, the heroine getting lost in the desert is symbolic?

message 1034: by Manvir (new)

Manvir (lucyheartfilia) Just wanted to know does the character on the cover have to be wearing both sunglasses and a hat. Or can just one of those work?

Nope, sorry Shosho. He's not a bad boy IMO. He's upfront with all three previous girls and stops as soon as he meets Nightie Girl. In fact, she's the only one that ever really judges him about his "harem". Maybe if they didn't know about each other, or if he was deceitful to them... But it is on the "bad boy" shelf, so it'll count towards shelf link.

I'll stand down if Susan or Lisa Kay disagree with me here.

message 1038: by Susan (susayq ~), Moderator (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) | 6062 comments CaroB, I agree with no plot points. I did not think he was a bad boy. He had been a manwhore before he got with her, but not after. Sorry, Shosho.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'm going to agree with CaroB, (though at first I wasn't going to) because (view spoiler)

message 1041: by Manvir (new)

Manvir (lucyheartfilia) Thanks CaroB for the response but I have another questions lol.

Does the pendant on the cover have to be a key? It's still on a chain and it plays a central role through out the whole book.
The Trouble With Fate (Mystwalker, #1) by Leigh Evans

message 1042: by Lina (new)

Lina | 5563 comments Sorry Manvir, but yes, it has to be a key.

message 1046: by D.G. (new)

D.G. Can we use the names of the band members and what can we use for title? Is is only Warzone or can we use War Zone or even Wanted like we got a past week when we could use the band name in the title?

message 1047: by D.G. (last edited Feb 15, 2013 04:10AM) (new)

D.G. Also, can cheating count for plot or does it have to the woman that cheats like in the song? (I'm assuming the latter but please confirm.)

ETA: Can it be cheating by a woman even if the woman was the ex-wife, not necessarily the heroine?

You can use the following names....SIVA, JAY, NATHAN, MAX, TOM. and for title any that have WAR or ZONE in it's title or series.

yes, cheating counts as a plot, doesn't matter who cheats.

message 1050: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) I know this might be pushing it a bit, but how about "wars" or "warriors" in the book title or series name?
