Hi I’m Avi from Georgia. I used to not know a whole lot about Sword & Sorcery but after reading Conan and Imaro I’m finding it to be one of my favorite subgenres.

Hello everyone! I am Alessandro from Italy, I really enjoyed the Novels of Conan and Kane of Richard Wagner. But I enjoy too the old School Comics of Conan, Slaine and Rogues (the 2 more) movies of Genre are not my favourites, but, I love Gorgoth of Barbaria. Actually I read some Warhammer novels very nice(never played, I already try to paint and it's amusing) After that I woul read some of Elric of Melnibonè
Hey everyone,Auston here. Author and Founder of AnabolicAuthor, I love to write/read low-fantasy novels and flash-fiction.
I'm in the middle of re-launching my books series (because let's be honest, I had no idea what I was doing the first time around LOL). But all in all, I just wanted to join this group because I feel like you're all more in line with my kind of readers. Needless to say, but I'm not a fan of the current fantasy romance trend that's sweeping through right now.
Anywho, I hope you all have a great day!
I'm Joe from Toronto - longtime S&S enthusiast with a taste for pulpy dark fantasy with a bit of wit to it (so Clark Ashton Smith, Karl Edward Wagner, CL Moore, A Merritt, Fritz Leiber, that sort of stuff). Always ready to try something new that isn't too "high fantasy".
Welcome Joe! Our group is a dim shadow of its past greatness, but a few of us still haunt these parts. If you wanted I could share a few links for S&S freebie collections to whet your appetite. This isn’t a sales pitch, I promise.
Howdy all,I am Patrick, but my author handle is P. Pherson. I am writer and have been writing for about 30 years. In all that time, I have published some, but never made it a priority. I grew up with Howard's Conan and Kull (I prefer Kull, and think By this Axe I rule is his best story), as well as Moorcock's Elric, and Tolkien of course.
In my own writing, I feel my voice is most similar to that of howard, but I would not really call myself Swords and Sorcery as defined here, but more Epic Fantasy.
Still, I enjoy the whole genre and love being in the Fantasy sphere.
Happy to meet everyone and hope we can enjoy this medium together.
If you come to know and like my stuff, please follow.
Thanks
P. Pherson
Greetings, one and all!I'm Max, and I'm an enjoyer of blood-soaked tales taking place in brutal landscapes. Whether they be in novel, comic book, or film form, they always get my motor revving.
So, I'm joining this group to find like-minded souls who also enjoy the sword-and-sorcery genre.
*Raises a frothy, medieval mug of ale.*
S.E. wrote: "Clearly a passion for Sword & Sorcery is luring Goodread members to join this group, however our interests seem varied. There are established authors and editors here, as well as long-time readers...."I'm a new author, looking for a group that matches my books and interests. I'm currently writing the follow up to my Sword and Sorcery/High Fantasy book 'Denithor the Librarian' while reading Wheel of Time. I read a little Conan when I was a kid and I like that interest in him is still high. When I'm done with my current stack of books that for one reason or another I'm reading concurrently, I plan on starting some Conan again. Where should I start? For context I last last read a Conan comic around 1991.
I'm Isaiah Herrero, (my pen name however is Isaiah Ward), I got into Sword and Sorcery honestly one day through watching Conan the Barbarian cartoon one day when it came out on Tubi one day. I fell in love with the genre and I'm currently working on my own Christian version of the genre. Probablly the first of it's kind, it deals with a lot of mature topics that I hope to expand upon and shed light on.
I'm Tom Servo and I reside on the Satellite of Love. I am saddened by people's mindless habit of liking all of their "friends" read books, filling my feed with mommy fantasy porn drivel. Is there no way to control what types of activity show up on feeds?
Yes, if you click on the little customize gear, you will get some choices. No more mommy fantasy porn drivel if you do that....unless...your friends are actually into mommy fantasy porn drivel...
I am Roberto, from Madrid, Spain and I hope to get good recommendations here. I am very ignorant about the S&S world.
Ignorant is easy to fix. Go read something by Robert E Howard, and you will be on your way past ignorance on this topic.
Hello everyone, I just joined and wanted to introduce myself before My name is Alessandro and I'm from Italy.
Speculative fiction of various kinds is one of my interests; I've been drawn to sword and sorcery recently, on a side quest while going through Marvel Comics' recent Conan series (comic books are another interest). My knowledge of the genre is practically non-existent... which leaves a lot of room for improvement!
(I started my exploration of Howard's Conan last summer). Feel free to visit my profile, everyone; I use a number of tags, particularly concerning speculative fiction. There isn't one for sword and sorcery... yet!
Hello! I’m Patrick and my experience with S&S is fairly recent. Most of my life was dedicated to science fiction reading featuring starships and space. But my friend Howard’s passion for S&S won ne over—reading Conan and just loving his work. I’m also a writer and may take a turn at an S&S tale myself.
what's the best s&s in space literature we got, boys? best I've found has been the metabarons comics. insanely good and even if you don't like comics you should read it. it's very solid...
Most boards I am a part of are sporadic at best, but I do read all the posts that go up in the groups I am a part of, and occasionally feel inclined to give a response.
The group has largely become defunct. You might try Discord https://discord.gg/4yrRHHPp but the activity is sporadic there too.
