Welcome Kirk! Glad you formally introduced yourself.
You headed to GenCon in Aug?

Absolutely. that would be so dope.

Thank you, S.E. I don't think I'll be attending Gen Con this year. I'm headed to Stoker Con in May and Multiverse in October. Hope to see some of you there.

STOKER CON! Hey man that's in Denver - I live North of there and my company has its HQ there too.
You presenting or just attending? One of my favorite authors Stephen Graham Jones will be there.
I wonder if there are other S&S people from Whetstone etc attending...might be a good after-hours meetup!

They have a lot of great panels, but I'm particularly hyped on their Cosmic Horror panel and Genre Blending in Horror panel.
I imagine there'll be some S&S people there, but I didn't recognize any names in the programming.
If anybody else is going just holla at me and we can do a real facetime with libations.

Writing fantasy for me was about exploring the darker instincts and fighting against them. I'm an author with autism, so this may inform character creation, among other things. My latest book is on preorder: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
Nice to meet you all!

Nice to meet you, Alex! Added the cover to your upcoming novel + the Kindle version. Looks awesome!

Thanks so much, Michael. I was puzzled how to add the cover.

I am a Sword and Sorcery devotee, but I am also interested in Cosmic/Folk Horror and Adventure/Historical Fiction. I've written for fun intermittently throughout my life but have only started taking it seriously this year. I write short stories, primarily S&S inspired by Irish History, Mythology, and Folklore (I was born in Dublin).

I still read mostly Sword and Sorcery including many people here. I haven't illustrated many books lately, but I did do the cover for the the "New Edge Sword & Sorcery Magazine" that just came out and I'm publishing my own artbooks via Kickstarter.
When Frazetta passed away I realized that no one could fill the empty space he left behind, but I'm trying to do my part.

Hi, Gilead! I downloaded it yesterday or this morning, I forget, and think the cover is really cool. Looking forward to seeing more!

Welcome Gilead!
Welcome Gilead!

Thank you I hope there will be many more of those.

Thanks for checking out the magazine! <--- The editor.

Welcome Jay!

Welcome, Kek!

I actually joined this group a few months ago but just lurked because I didn't have much to add to the discussion. But now I'm reading the collection Kull: Exile of Atlantis by Robert E. Howard so I thought it would be a good time to officially introduce myself.
I grew up reading Sword & Sorcery books in Junior High School in the mid-1980s, starting with Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser, then moving on to Elric and Conan and whatever others I could find with cool Frank Frazetta covers in the spinning racks in my school library.
Nowdays I don't read much S&S...or maybe I should say I don't read enough S&S? You know, time constraints, work, so many other books, etc. But I do have a special fondness for the genre and would like to fit more in as possible. A couple years ago I started reading all the original Conan stories and - although I will eventually move on to some of the Conan pastiches - I have decided to track down and read many of Howard's other collections. Kull represents my first non-Conan Howard stories, so I'm looking forward to it.
I look forward to meeting all of you - those I don't already know - and talking books with you. Friend requests always welcome (assuming you're not just trying to pimp your own book).

Approved and thank you!

I grew up on Sword and Sandal movies, Ray Harryhausen movies, and S&S comics (both Marvel and DC). I'm not as comfortable as I'd like to be on discussion platforms (I'm more of a face-to-face at the bar kinda guy) so forgive me if I go dark for long periods of time or respond late. Looking forward to running into guys at a con.
