Do you think in today's world that people are judged too much on their appearance and not on their character or other aspects of a persons personality? If so why do you think people do this and how could it be stopped?

Glad that I am not the only one that realized this point. I wished they focused more on his actions not his looks, because he looks terrifying does not make him terrifying. Only when he went after the little girl thats when I viewed him as a horrible person.

I think that many people are judged on their appearance more than aspects of their personality. People do this because it is a natural instinct to judge. I don't think this can be stopped because people have always been that way.

And, how ironic, the most handsome have been some of the worst. Bundy?

Time Factor I guess, because in this word of practicality, no one bothers about anyone. It takes time realize what is true nature of that person. SO TODAY'S PEOPLE CANT AFFORD TIME FOR REALIZATION OF TRUTH. So ......................................................

I think that people ARE judged too much on their appearance but that it's actually an evolutionary development. Appearance is one of the first things we learn about people and there is a mental process called primacy that inclines most people to put heavier weights on the order in which facts are learned. Hence appearance counts for more. This CAN be overcome later but it requires a larger volume of data to do so.

That's probably why in several studies, loved ones tend to be considered more attractive by their loved ones than by random strangers.

Well, nowadays we judge a lot people by their avatar and how well they communicate online. I'll never meet Stephen or Ian or anyone, but I have a small sense of what kind of person they are from this thread....
