I'm not sure I understand the question.
Are you talking about this?

E: The Mane Attraction finished 9/7/12 [Review] Also claimed Wind, Fruit, Boots
Dyllan: Something About You finished 9/7/12 [Review] Also claimed Wind. Piano, Tie
Laura: Blood in the Water finished 9/8/12 [Review] Also claimed Rainbow, Cake, Sock
Paris: The Red Queen finished 9/10/12 [Review] Also claimed Mist, Shelf, Hood
This is the format or the "Review" link with out the spaces.
< a href="http://www.goodreads.com" >[Review]< / a>

Step 1:
Locate the (some html is ok) just above the comment box.

Step 2:
Click on that link to open the Formatting Tips box.

Step 3:
The second bullet point on the list says "link". Select and copy the text next to it.

Step 4:
Paste the coppied info into your comment box where you want it to be.

Step 5:
Locate the source you want to link and copy it. It could be any web page or for this example I am going to link to post 2 on this page. To get the source info for a specific post I right click my mouse on the time stamp of the post and chose copy shortcut.

Step 6:
Paste your coppied location over the location you got from the formatting page. You want to replace everything between the quotation marks, underlined in red below.

If you paste it correctly it should look like this.

Step 7:
Erase the part of the code between the > and the < where it says my link text, shown underlined in red below.

Replace it with what ever you want your the link to show.

In your post it should look like this.
See Post Two

It looks like you pasted the http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1... over the MY LINK TEXT instead of over the http://www.goodreads.com
Books mentioned in this topic
The Mane Attraction (other topics)Something About You (other topics)
Blood in the Water (other topics)
The Red Queen (other topics)
1st way- copy and post
You can copy the page info from your browser and paste it as text. This will give you a link to the top of a particular page.
You can also right click on the date stamp of a post to make a link to a particular post, useful for things in the middle of the page.
When you paste the copied info in the comment box it will look like this.
http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
2nd way- HTML coded
If you forget you can always find the formula by clicking the (some html is ok) button on the top right of the comment box. This will pull up a pop up box with most code in them.
The general format is:
< a href="http://www.goodreads.com">my link text< /a >
With out the space between the < a and the a >
Replace the info between the quotations with your link, either copied from your browser or from a time stamp.
Then replace “my link text “ with whatever you want it to say.
For example:
< a href="http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1..." > Main help thread< /a>
with out the spaces will look like this:
Main help thread
