At the library today I was spoilt for choice, two Robert McFarlane books, a couple of other interesting reads too. Ended up getting Rising Ground: A Search for the Spirit of Place and to read to my daughter Buckle and Squash and the Land of the Giants
Had a count over my library books the other day, and found out I had 58. I've been so filled up with everything else lately, so I have not had the time to read, but clearly I have kept picking up books!Due vacation and me beeing away from home for like 5 weeks, I am not gonna bring books with me, (well, maybe one or 2 for the trip!), and rather just borrow books from the local library in norway... I now gotta deliver them all! Down to 42 now xs

We have one of these in my village, and we did in our last village too!
I was in my lovely library just today, borrowed a book my 10 year old daughter is desperate to read.
Also re-borrowed an audio book that was broken, they located me a new copy in 3 days flat from another branch. Great service. And no charge.

that would have been awesome if instead of songs it was books and people could listen in on you reading a story.

There are already reading dogs (and other animals) to whom children can read when they are learning how. And others probably could ask from a old people's home (or somewhere), if they could visit and read there. I don't see why anyone would use a place like that.
