um try Obsidion by Jennifer L. armentrout though his really hot in the book he does have the attitude as dereks, plus its a really good book its followed by Onyx and Opal (out this December 18, 2012)Hope I helped. :)

uhh well in this book im reading called Blood on the Moon, the character Lucas is a little like Derek. hes very mysterious and has his sort of attitude, though doesnt have the acne and greasy hair, but to me is very much like Derek :3

Ahhh... I think Derek's character remind me of Christian Ozera from Vampire Academy more! :P Christian is mysterious and sarcastic. He also has mysterious and unique back story as is Derek. Plus, Christian is Underdog as is Derek. Derek and Chloe's relationship is similar to Christian and Lissa, they understand each other and their relationship develop slowly from friendship. It's just Christian is less rude than Derek. :D
Although, Daemon is Dickhead as Derek, but their characters are totally different if seeing from the Complexity and Dimension of the characters. Plus, Daemon is Handsome and Hot, not unattractive. True that the relationship between Daemon and Katy is Not Insta-Love, BUT their relationship is Insta-Lust. I still think Derek and Chloe remind me of Christian and Lissa from Vampire Academy more! :))

I loved how he was first described as having acne and greasy hair, but slowly throughout the trilogy he turns out to be a really nice guy, and the entire time I wanted Chloe to be with him! I was almost positive she'd end up with Simon, if anyone, but I was so excited when she ended up with Derek! I also liked how their feelings for each other developed slowly, instead of it being rushed like a lot of YA books.
Also, even though he's in great shape, he doesn't feel the need to run around without a shirt all the time, unlike other werewolf characters... (Ahem, Jacob Black!)
Anyways, if any of you know any other book characters like him, that'd be great! :D
