AoA Everyone!I've been a ghost member here for ages, since I just got back from taking a sabbatical from reading, I thought I'd start over here.
I'm Hasan and I'm from Islamabad. I'm one of those fanatical readers who'll pick up a novel and leave everything else behind to finish it (case in point, the last book I read kept me up till 7am and I went to work after getting like 50 minutes of sleep, spent the whole day in the office doing a plausible imitation of the walkers from the walking dead). I enjoy most genres though my favorites are the many variants of fantasy and sci-fi, and I tend to avoid reading tragedies.
Hope to make some friends who share my passion for reading :)
welcome to the group Hassan. You made a good decision to convert from a ghost to an active member :p because we all have , multiple times, went to university or our respective jobs with out any sleep or next to nothing sleep. i think this is something every avid reader has to through because this is what makes them an avid reader or a book lover :D
btw pardon my typos because goodreads app on cellphone might save me from booting up my laptop but it certainly doesnt help my typing disability. :D
Gotta love the GR app lol. Yeah, pulling all-nighters to finish a book is something I used to do on an almost weekly basis back when I was in uni still. It's good to be here and be a part or the Pakistani readers community
i do it all the time. and in the end i never regret getting any sleep at all. the book is always worth it. :p
this is a very nice group. i am sure you will like interacting with others here as well. we are a colorfull bunch but we make it fun. :D

I've never really regretted pulling an all-nighter to read but when you can't remember half of you said to your boss and half the things you did after lunch on account of being held asleep, it might be prudent to acknowledge you have a problem
Hassan...i agree but it helps me to be a major lit. student. my professors are slightly understanding if they find me half asleep in class. although this no-sleep matter sucks big time when i have to finish my freelancing job deadline. i dont know how i can make sentences that makes sense.
being able to bullshit your way through life half asleep is one of the most important life skills you can have
i think when u are bullshitting your way through life then it is not a life skill it becomes a libality.
All about priorities I think, I wouldn't mind bullshitting my way through mundane tasks even if I was half asleep, many a times I spent the night before an exam reading and then ended up just winging the whole thing, it's worked out well for me so far.
yeah I guess depends a lot on luck. Some people qet to wing it others have to work hard. For me its a 50/50 chance thing.
Perfecting the art of winging it, would be a really useful book lol. Anyway, I'm also looking for some recommendations, anything that you loved, thought that it was a masterpiece, I'd appreciate it.
