Legacy question

I read this book about a year ago. A few weeks ago I purchased Allegiance, the second book in this trilogy. I started reading and then realized that I had forgotten everything that happened in legacy. I searched the internet for a summary, but could only fine reviews, which didn't help me recall any information. I really don’t have the time or the desire to reread Legacy. I would really appreciate it if someone could post a review. A fairly detailed chronological order of events would be sufficient. Thanks!!
