Rory comes into the library and looks through the shelves for something non-demon related to read, eventully she finds a tale of two cities and takes it from the book shelf.
Ryder stalks into the library for quiet.
Rory looks up and see's a boy she hasnt met before walk in, she puts her book down.
Rory watches the boy and wanders what he will do, for a moment Rory worries about her dress as it is rather thin, barely a dress at all, but then she shakes the thought away.
Ryder kicks a desk, then realizes somebody else was there. He sucks his head, embarassed.
Rory looks up as the boy kicks a desk, 'are you quite alright?' she realises it was a stupid question as soon as she said it. Obviously he was not alright or he wouldnt be kicking things she thinks. Rory gets up and walks slowly towards the boy.
Ryder looks over to her, "Uh, yes. Well, no. Erm, I'm not sure..."
Rory gets even closer to him, concerned but also wary, 'Well, how about you tell me whats wrong, if you want to that is, i wont beat it out of you i promise' Rory goes for a smile but it falls flat as the boy still looks distressed.
Ryder relaxes some, "It is nothing, really. I just overreact a bit."
Rory knew it was rude but she couldnt help but ask 'overreacted to what?'
"People." Ryder says, keeping it general. He leaned against the desk.
Rory nods and stands in front of him, looking into his face 'yes, people can be frustrating, anything happen impaticular with people? or was it just in general?' asks Rory with genuine interest.
"Peter, among others." Ryder says reluctantly. He wasn't really justified, he just needed to be against somebody.
Rory raises an eyebrow and says 'I understand, and i dont believe we've met properly, who are you?'
"Ryder." He tells her, "And you are...?"
'Aurora Blackthorne, but if we're using first names then you can call me Rory' she says, Rory smiles openly at Ryder.
"Okay..." Ryder tells her; letting a small smile out. "I can do that."
Rory returns his smile and entwines her fingers together, she bites her lip out of habit. 'So whats your story?' again she knew it was rude to ask such things but Rory had never been one for following rules.
"My story...?" Jinx asks, unsure of what exactly she is asking.
'Meaning life story, i dont mean to pry' says Rory, she looks down at her bordering on indesent dress then looks back up, a slight blush coming over her cheeks.

"My story, huh?" Ryder thought for a second, "I'm from New York.. Well, New Jersey actually, but I lived in NY. Anyways, I got away from my parents who reside there today and landed here."

'Oh right' replies Rory 'i've been in England my entire life, i mean i have visited places such as italy because of our training, but never further than that, i imagineNew York must be very different to here'
"Very." Ryder agrees. "I like it better in the city, but the freedom here wins out."
'I suppose so, i've always liked the freedom of London, i lived on its streets for long time before i became a shadowhunter' Rory says thoughtfully.
"Hm, not me. What was that like?" Ryder asks curiously.
Rory thinks for a moment, many dark thoughts rising up into her mind, she pushes them all back so they dont consume her, she says 'It was...difficult, my mother was killed by a demon, she was on the run from my...it doesnt really matter, but yes i was glad when the shadowhunters found me a few years ago, if only because now i have purpose'
Rory smiles slightly, 'I was never going to be the normal get marrie type anyway, the only problem is havig demons constantly want to kill you, its exausting' jokes Rory.
Ryder laughs, "Yeah, I'm sure that's true." He sighs and sits down in a nearby chairz
Rory stands for a moment then sits down next to Ryder, she places her book on her lap.
Ryder picks at a scab on his arm and relaxes/
Rory feels herself also relaxing and she looks ove to study Ryder a bit more, he has become somewhat facinating to her.
Ryder peels off the skin and catches her looking at him. "Hi."
'Hi...' Rory considers her next question 'you arent like most of the men or the shadowhunters i've met, why is that?' she asks finally.
Ryder shrugs, looking her, "I don't know."
Rory bites her lip and thinks about why she feels that way, 'I dont really know either' she says.
Ryder laughs and wipes his arm on his pants. "Alright."
Rory laughs with him and then just as she is a about to say something else to Ryder, Damon comes into the room looking like he want to hit something.
Ryder raises his eyebrows, sensing that this guy was in a worse mood than he had been.
Rory looks Damon up and down, Damon says, 'Rory, i nmust get out of here, i will speak to you later' his tone has an edge that Rory can't ignore. But then he is gone out the door and Rory turns to Ryder 'right, that is just Damon, he is...' she isnt sure how to finish that sentence.
Ryder raises his eyebrows, "He is what..?"
'Damon Herondale is a lot of things...it's complicated' says Rory with an unsure smile.
"Okay, I'll just believe you..." Ryder told her.
Ryder nods and pulls off his jacket, hoping she was distracted enough not too look too closely. The scars on his arms set him apart more than his different mannerisms. "Okay."
Rory notices his scars, but feels it would be very rude to ask about them, she had scars of her own and didnt like when people commented on them, so she stayed quiet even though she's curious.
The silence was too long for Ryder's taste so he came up with, "What are you thinking about?"
'Do you really want to know?' she asks with a slight smile.
