Kaiden laughs "Yea I know, but it would help, and I could teach Damon not to leave books everywhere so we wouldnt get into this kind of thing" he says.

Jess nodded. "So it's decided: I'll make sure Peter tosses swords about instead of putting them up, and you'll tell Damon he needs to put books on the roof and ceiling fans."
"At least life is never boring," Jess said. "The thrill of searching for books and collecting weapons; living the dream."
"Oh yes, but like i said, those lot need saving more than the mundanes do most of the time with all the trouble they get into" says Kaiden.
Jess laughed, "We're obviously the true heroes." She looked at Kaiden. "They would never get anything done if you weren't around to drive them places, and I to train with some of the girls."
Jess laid back so half of her body was hanging off of the chair. "The immense pressure is stifling," she moaned with mock-exhaustion.
"Something else?" Jess asked, slightly confused. "You mean in contrast to being humanity's only hope for survival?"
"You don't realize what a huge compliment that is," Jess told him. She thought back to his question. "Every day. I think about leaving and being normal every single day," she answered honestly.
"Not necessarily," Jess said. "Ivi wouldn't force me to stay here if I insisted on leaving, would she?"
"I'm very dramatic," Jess consented. She gave a huge sigh touched the back of her hand to her forehead.
Jess rolled her eyes at him. "The heart wants what the heart wants, I suppose," she said. "Could be worse; you could fancy Benedict Lightwood."
"Or his daughter, that girl is so boring, i think we could replace her with a twig and never know the difference...actually thats not true...twigs can be useful for fire wood" he says.
Jess crossed her arms over her chest. "Sorry?" she asked incredulously. "I am entirely proper!" This time she was indignant.
"Maybe you aren't, but I can be," Jess said. "Maybe I just think my company isn't worth the hassle." She pressed her lips together.
Kaiden moves to stand closer to Jess and says "I believe it is worst the hassle. You are the one woman I know that i enjoy the company of".
Jess looked up at Kaiden through her lashes. "You aren't horrid company, I suppose," she said, a trace of a smile in her voice. Though it didn't show on her face.
Kaiden smirks slightly and says "well of course not, why would else would the masters purposely mess things up just so id have to save them".
