That is my understanding as well. And it in fact appears to be official, from-on-high-mandated GR policy. (That page is linked to from each and every edit page.)

At the moment, I just want to bash my head into a wall because I was going through my bookshelf, looking for other weird changes and I've found 2 other librarians making unnecessary/incorrect edits.
One is just rearranging the titles so that the mini-series is listed after the series.
And the other is making whole-sale changes..rearranging titles, changing characters separated by comma so separated by &, taking out paragraph delineations on summaries, etc.
Not fun.
I recently noticed that some edits I'd done had been changed. They were titles of some Harlequin/Silhouette series romances. Whenever I read these, I always go in and edit the book info. One of the changes I do is to include mini-series and series info in the title. Amazon does this to a certain degree but they are often off a little. So I just fix them up.
Example:
For this book I listed the title as:
Crime Scene At Cardwell Ranch (Montana Mystique) (Harlequin Intrigue #897)
but a librarian recently changed it just to:
Crime Scene At Cardwell Ranch
So now I'm confused...and, I admit, rather frustrated because I put in a lot of time editing books I've read to reflect all the correct info...a couple hundred books at least. I was given to believe that the way I'd titled it was acceptable. Am I incorrect in believing this? Before I contact the librarian regarding the changes (and it wasn't just this book, it's a bunch), I wanted to check in and see where things stood.
